We had that, and pineapple fritters. The batter had gone tanned where oceans of oil were super fried. Pass the bucket..Bleurgh. That just brought back not-so-nice memories of school dinner spam-in-batter: so revolting you could press your knife into it and create an ocean of oil on the top of the batter.
