Sporty Forty.e t

I'll try. I shouldn't have joked about skiving, because I feel so tired and down today. I can't just yet, I'll may be just walk out for 5 mins and then come back, that will be a start. Can't face it just yet though.

I know the feeling.. Shame we can't bank exercise from good days to save for the not so good days.

You five minutes sounds like a plan, though. I will raise you five, and go for ten minutes, for starter. Then fit the other 30 in later, in stages. Got to be better than sitting here with the iPad.

So I walked for 18 mins and then went next door to carry a full watering can to their greenhouse so I can water the plants tonight, so I'm counting that as 20 in total. I don't normally add on those little bits of exercise, but I need to today because I might not be doing anymore. My muscles hurt and I am more tired than when I walked 14 miles in a day on holiday. So I might not put in the full 40 mins today but I have put in lots of effort. Definitely not a skive day and I'm proud of myself for that.

That's the spirit @zand. Good enough is good enough.
Says she who has only just managed to walk to the kitchen and get yogurt for breakfast. The vacuum cleaner is ready , so some vigorous housework will be my starter for ten.

You do all realise that I am to frightened to skive ...lol
No seriously you all keep me going.
Sanguine Im glad you went to Cragside its a great place.

That looks so sore, and that sad face says it all. Hope nobody bumps that at the proms.

I will look out for you on TV. Give us a wave.

I have pushed myself to potter in the garden. It was moving and sorting pots involving some bending and lifting, and walking round, so it can be regarded as exercise. Hopefully give the herbs a chance to flourish. That was 35 mins. The vacuum cleaner is still waiting, but it will have to wait. I will have a long soak in the bath and finish the day with some gentle Pilates exercises to make up the time. About all I am able to manage today.

I thought I'd try to do my next 20 mins walk but only managed 13 mins, I had to turn back because of muscle pains in my chest again. I did some arm wrestling with my son, so I hope that counts. He won easily when we did left arm wrestling, but it took a long time to beat me when we wrestled with our right arms (and yes we're both right handed)

Bit of a rest today, but we did about 20 minutes walk at High Force in Teesdale followed by some arm-lifting of teapots in Middleton.

Arm wrestling when you're getting chest pains? Be careful!!!

(This is your mother speaking ;-) )

I got a protection thing for my arm incase some one bumped it. I am allergic to elastoplast etc so that's a no no.
The Proms were fantastic. Loved every minute of it .
Next year Im taking my seat and picnic and doing it posh lol.
We walked from Central Station to Glasgow Green and back and stood watching the concert for 3 hours.Brilliant.
The whole yes no vote thing is on everyone's minds and seeing the Saltire and the Union Jacks meant very different things this year.
What ever happens on Thursday things are going to be different , hopefully better in the future.

Im still officially undecided but tonight for the first time since I moved here in 1986 I feel more Scottish than English ( still a citizen of the Geordie Nation before anything else lol).

Not again! You're the second person to tell me off! OK I'll try to be sensible in future. This morning the chest pains have gone and my right arm really aches!

A true story about arm wrestling.

A colleague's 25 year old son was arm wrestling for fun about 12 months ago. He broke the large bone in his upper arm. He's had surgery 3 times and still doesn't have 100% use of his arm. It's getting there but it's a long haul. There was a point where the specialist advised he may lose quite a lot of use. :-(
