Sporty Forty.e t

That sounds lovely Pollylocks. Its dull in Ayrshire today but still dry. I've got the cold again.. sick of it , isn't coming to much just hanging around. Anyway once Andrew Marr finishes ( my Sunday morning education) I'm going to go for my walk then be lazy all day.

I missed Andrew Marr today. I was pottering about sorting laundry and lost track of the time. Made me grumpy. Totally out of character. I need to get some exercise, so will be revamping the physio programme.
Preparing for induction/ medical review for the specialist gym tomorrow. Arrgh! I don't believe I just typed that!

@Pipp at least we aren't lazy cows like this lot I passed this morning lol

Still good weather down this way so have been doing plenty of walks this week...granddaughter coming round today so expect it'll be strolls on the beach and finding stones with holes in!!

Dobby stones. I love them. I found a small one on Chesil Beach which I've strung on a bit of leather cord and wear as a good luck charm. We have some big ones on a rope in garage at home ( why do I still call my mum's house home?) which I think my great gran found in Hartlepool. Apparently they keep the witches at bay and seem to have worked so far.

Sorry went too soon ! Start again , we have had our old neighbours over for the weekend . We have not seen them since they were last over 6 years ago so had quite a bit of catching up to do ! So we have walked around the local tourist spots and today walked round the harbour on Puerta Banus dreaming of what yacht we would buy when we win the lottery !!

You have all been doing lots of walking recently in some lovely places...lots of lovely photos.

No walking for me this week end...hubby did the dog walking...it was so cold yesterday I couldn't bring myself to go out. I ironed all the shirts and school uniform today so that was my exercise.

Did 20 mins on bike after dinner. Was hoping to have had walk earlier but not to be .

Ok, so the dreaded day of reckoning! The induction at the gym!

But first, I went to aquafit session, and did a 45 min intense workout. Then the induction......lots of forms to fill in. Only small space on forms to list medical conditions, previous surgery, broken bones and medication. I took a pre-printed dossier instead. Although the nurse was impressed, she took ages wading through it all. My BP weight and height were recorded. Out of those 3 the only good thing was BP. weight gone up, height gone down.

Then to the torture chamber! What a surprise! No weights or treadmill, not super toned bods in designer gear, just a lot of people, just like me, with assorted health conditions and disabilities. The gym equipment is designed for older people and those with less strength. Nice that you can sit down for most exercises. The best was the Powerplate machine. You don't have to do anything but stand on it and it does the rest.

In addition to the gym I can go to yoga and Pilates, there are some other things, like line dancing and zumba, but I won't be up for them. The gym instructor was very amenable.

So, I will give it a go.

OMG!

Look at what you lot on this thread have got me doing! I cannot believe I am going willingly to a gym!

Well done Pipp, inspirational!

So 20 minutes walk around Morrisons ( probably much longer as it is not my usual supermarket but mum away so gave me some voucher thing to use up) - hadn't a clue where stuff was so had to send mr e out as he was getting frustrated. Then 22 minutes on bike.

Pipp becareful with the power plates they can be sore.

The gym is good for going at your own pace and Ive never been to one thats lycra people. I prefer to get out in the fresh air but its good to have somewhere to go in the winter.
