Fibrous is good for gut health, but starchy sounds like he meant carbs to me and if that is what was meant, totally unsuitable for us diabetics.

I just don't get the arguments over starch. It is more or less 100% starch/carbs.
which has no place in a keto or reduced low carb diet. But as always there are different ways of avoiding or some can tolerate a low mix with protein and good fats.
fibre is another where you have to know whether you can tolerate the amount of fibre you need, which will not effect your blood glucose levels spikes.
Too many spikes in a short time is not healthy for someone with a metabolic imbalance.
Like the rest of us we are different in what we should eat. Our tastes, and where we live, what we can afford and availability is part and parcel on the road of discovery.
Best wishes.

Since going low carb I have found it hard to eat enough fibre, making me prone to constipation. I use psyllium husk powder in powdered and capsule form. Also I randomly crunch on a few celery sticks, which are high fibre, but both low carb and low calorie.
