Step into Spring

Ah yes I did forget about the icy pavements ... occasionally we get a small drop of snow in the Mountains and I remember once going for a walk with the dog and almost falling on my bum due to a slippery patch of ice. I have walked in the rain before, though that was at a time in my life where I was a lot more motivated .. now if I open my eyes I think 'oh good it's raining, I can go back to sleep!' :)

Stick with us, you will be motivated.

Im quite enjoying my bike, apart from the fact i may be walking like John Wayne tomorrow!

I will try not to deceive though.

I mean, tomorrow I will be taking down the Christmas tree too. That sounds like strenuous activity, but it is a 30cm artificial tree that will take all of 30 seconds to dismantle.

I managed to do all that I had planned today. Changed the bedding, dusted and Hoovered my whole apartment, did two loads of washing, steam cleaned the bathroom (a lazy way of cleaning tiles) did my supermarket shop then decided to take down the tree. It's only three feet high but two sets of lights which took forever to untangle. I have wound them round a piece of card nice and tidy but you can bet your life by next December they will have had fun in the box and be all tangled up again! How does that happen? I now have a free day tomorrow to spend with my two granddaughters, 4 & 2 they will probably burn off more calories than today's activities. Well done everyone, keep it up everyone appears to be very motivated.

35 minutes on numb bum and gone the whole morning without a chocolate.

Well done but how do you manage to ignore choccy? It's the one thing I find really hard. I have gone all day without and just shamed myself by eating 4 peanut m & m's and they were the largest ones in the pack! I'm weak weak weak but mmmmmmm

Didn't ignore it in the afternoon lol
Tomorrow I ll try and ignore it til tea time ... Wean myself off it ....hoping to get back to 1 Aldi dark chocolate at supper time ....oh I love chocolate lol

Hello. The only exercise I managed today was supermarket shopping with 18 month old grandson which was quite an energetic and lengthy process. He was helping ! Lol. Tomorrow my life should be back to normal as my visitors will have gone and I will be back to the painting. :)

Ok today is the day I stop sitting round eating and drinking those so called treats.

I have been to the swimming pool. Had the pool to myself and the water was lovely and warm. Head was telling me to keep going, but body had had enough after 25 minutes. I swam for 15 and exercised (water running and abdominal crunches in deep end) for 10 mins. The crunches were more like squelches though. Continued activity was walking round the big Tesco store. I did have to lean on the trolley all the way round though.

35 minutes brisk walk in 2 halves today. Oh and a pile of washing up for my daughter (seems to have been a regular feature of my Christmas break!) :-)

I wouldn't exactly call it step into spring as it is still winter but it's a great idea as I need to bring down my blood sugar levels after carbing it over xmas and new years. Also I drank too much alcohol and now have converted to drinking spirits instead of lager and made a fool of myself in the process of and singing to Gangnam Style.

Right now though, I've been told that I have a viral cough that could last up to 8 weeks. But it will not keep me from moving.

Hey, where have you been @akindrat?

Hope your studies are going well, and that you are managing diet and exercise. If I remember rightly you were going to the gym at uni?

70 mins in cold but sunny Glasgow parks rhis afternoon - big improvement on yesterday's hail.

Hey Pipp, I've been concentrating on my studies and still am. Also I've been helping my parents around the house as they have finally finished doing work on the kitchen and are now eating real meals as they have been eating microwaved food and takeaways for the past 3 months.

I haven't been able to go the gym from middle of November till xmas because of severe back pain, but fortunately my uniform gym did an offer so that I could access a nuffield health gym back home till January 2nd.

My diet on the other hand has changed since coming back to my parents and as a result I've had high sugar levels on a few days, but it did not help that I had 2 cases of Foster's lager as a Xmas gift and I still have a case and a half left.

New Years Eve did it for me as I forgot my monitor and was with my family at my nans and she did a nice chilli with cauliflower rice just for me. Then I was in charge of making cocktails and shots for everyone. On New Years Day I was unable to do anything and nearly went into hospital as my monitor was reading high and it has took till today to get them to single digits.

It certainly was a lovely day in Glasgow, we ended up walking around Braehead and Silverburn looking at back packs for hours then got stuck in traffic on the M77 back to Ayrshire. The sun was really bright and low and there was a nasty car crash which caused the traffic jam, the poor woman involved looked terrified .

Hurry back to uni, get back to sensible eating and keep reporting in here about your activity. Inspire and be inspired.

Good luck with studies. Busy time last semester, so don't neglect your health.

20 minute walk and 10 minutes on the rowing machine today.

I have excelled myself today...dog walk, cross tra\iner and ironing:) This is more than I have done all week! Shirts have been ironed for next week for school and work. Hubby and I had a nice dog walk, it was lovely and sunny...but cold. Day 2 of the cross trainer was worse than yesterday but I will persevere!
