Can diabetic medications be stopped if the sugar levels are stable? Is there any chances of restarting medicine once stopped? Any risk in these ?

I would think that if blood sugars were going low due to the medication then yeah, they could be stopped..........

and of course, you could still go back on meds if they were needed........

are you in this position.........?

Hi. In general you would need to continue your meds even with stable blood sugar as the meds will be helping control the sugar. Most diabetic meds can be stopped and started without dire effects but obviously you shouldn't play around with them; I speak as an amateur of course. You are on the three standard tablets for those with poor blood sugar control or those who are actually Late onset T1 and not T2. Metformin which you have by itself and as part of Janumet (strange?) has little effect on blood sugar but helps if you are overweight. Diamicron (Gliclazide in the UK) stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin and the Sitagliptin (aka Januvia) part of Janumet helps prolong insulin output after meals. So, I think you need a discussion with the doc based on your weight, HBa1c and typical blood sugar readings etc

I have the feeling that my doctor has prescribed me over doses . With other means such as increase intensity of walking, control of food, taking herbal substances....I believe my medication should be reduced . Of course I need to convince the doctor

Your meds seem to overlap.
You seem to be on two different tablets for metformin, and also two different types of tablets that stimulate insulin production.
It is worth asking for a review of this at least.
