Strange happenings while swimming in sea

Hi
Not been on here lately as settled into a routine and don't really pay much attention to the fact that I am type 2. Sugars below 7 in the mornings and going low is more of a concern than going high. But today something very strange happened.

I was in the sea with my daughter Southbourne, dorset when suddenly my body became ultra sensitive to touch almost as if I was giving myself electric shocks. Got out quickly dried off and everything went back to normal. After about 20 mins went back in and it started again, got out and back to normal.

Very strange, don't suffer allergies and not sunburn. Any suggestions welcome?

Hi. Did you do a test to see your sugar levels?

This is not the first time I have heard about this, particularly in seawater, where blood sugars have dropped quickly.

Any other symptoms? May not be diabetes related of course. If you are concerned at all, best take a trip to the GP or call your diabetes centre.

No, I've been undercontrol for so long I don't carry tester on days out. Didn't get my normal warning signs of low sugar ie. toothache (must visit dentist) felt fine when out of water and dry. I did get a feeling of sunburn on my stomach when I was first diagnosed and started on metformin though. Dr didn't have a clue what it was even when I asked about neuropathy (was told you only get it in hands & feet)

Before being diagnosed and obviously being hyper for long time I realised that I wasnt suffering from hayfever. I think its just your body going sod off I got enough to cope with without you.
