Breakfast: zilch, black tea, 500 mg metformin, starvation diet until dinner
Lunch: nada, black tea, still starving, waiting for 1600 dinner
Pre Dinner: veggies and dip (snap peas, celery slices, cauliflower pieces, red and yellow peppers w/french onion dip), tequila and red wine
Dinner: roast turkey w/cranberry sauce, stuffing, brussels sprouts, buttered carrots, mashed rutabaga, beet salad, red wine, 500 mg metformin
Dessert: Granddaughter's homemade trifle (2 small bowls), more red wine
Snack: tequila, red wine and 1 shot of "Mamamango" (Italian moscato & mango liquer)...
The actual dinner was not very threatening blood glucose wise, but the homemade trifle (strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and kiwi slices in a thick cream/custard with whipped cream on top) definitely (likely) had an effect, didn't bother checking until about 10 PM when it was 7.2. The Italian Mamamango liquer was also not likely a good thing for me to sample, especially since moscato is too sweet all by itself. As I don't really like moscato and/or mango juice I won't be testing that particular liquer again, but once or twice a year a small taste of the trifle should be manageable...
