I hope this is ok to post Admin . When I first joined this forum a few years ago , I didn't stay around very long . I did find it informative but, if I`m honest , not very friendly or welcoming or maybe it was me who was in a bad place at the time . However , I decided to return quite recently , mainly because whilst my diabetes is under good control , my husband has suffered a stroke , attributed mainly to his high BS at the time . I have to say that the forum is a lovely place now , very few disagreements and somehow has a nicer feel to it , I am so pleased that I found it again . Apart from being a good place to visit , you can always see someone else with problems far worse than your own and it kind of puts things into perspective , making you realise that life is actually damned good, diabetes or not .

Undoubtedly,

Without this forum and of the advice given, personally, I would be in a very bad way, and unable to live my life the way I do!

I've said it before and again.

Thank you!

I've noticed that the range of info found on here, be it mainly on diabetes, is far more informative to old & new on here, than most GP's can ever give.
The forum shows without a doubt that the Nhs & others need to have a deep look at the advice & medication they give is well out & makes people worse overtime & not for gaining & maintaining control to prolong the onset of complications for a long time, if not indefinitely, hopefully.

I agree the forum is a great place. I can only speak positively about it...

There's no better place to be Katie, really pleased you find the forum friendly and helpful :)

It's been a fantastic resource for me so far, and everyone is really supportive so a very positive site to visit

Good post, @ kateincornwall, I agree with all that you have said about the friendliness and splendidly informative answers to questions on here.
I have managed the Newcastle Diet thanks to the support from the folk in the forum and I am immensely grateful for that. Words cannot express....

Sorry for the late reply!

It's really good to hear that you're finding the support you need on the forum. We do have a fantastic, vibrant, amazingly supportive community here and it's something we all cherish. Incredibly sorry to hear about your husband, but it's amazing to hear how helpful the forum has been for you.

All the best ♥ x

It's the only good thing so far that the practise nurse has told me " have a look at the web site " if the nurse and my G P know about you perhaps there's hope for the NHS yet , it's a fantastic place to visit thank you ALL JJ
