The SCREAM thread

A few years ago we had a powercut in Feb for 17 hours! I tried to make sure my next door neighbour was ok. He was in late seventies and lived alone. I offered to get him fish n chips, hot drinks (I have a gas hob) hot water bottle etc. He turned it all down. When the electricity came back on at 3 am I didn't know that his boiler didn't automatically heat up. The next day he fell down and cut his head. He died the next day of hyperthermia. :coldfeet::(. Felt awful about it for ages as I'd known him all my life. However he had masked the cold with lots of alcohol. So not a totally terrible way to go.

I hope the heater is only throwing a wobbly and comes back soon!
You did all you could for the old guy

Scream Commencing:

This insomnia is driving me BONKERS
My tingly, itchy, prickly feet are not BL00DY-WELL helping :banghead:

Scream Terminated.

Forgot to get my new insulin Toujeo and the pharmacy can't get it anymore today. Back on Lantus for the second day i guess. Constantly in the lows today though, thought i'd be on the higher side.

I am not a happy bunny. :sour: The weather is lovely and sunny here. Last night I booked to go on a bike ride. I would have to get a train to the starting venue but they would be tackling my most hated aspect- hills :arghh: I didn't sleep well but managed to drag myself out of my nice comfy warm bed. :grumpy: Well I pushed myself on and left the house, went to station and bought my ticket. They then announced that the train was cancelled. Not delayed but cancelled Grrr! It would have been so easy to have turned over and gone back to sleep but no, I force myself out. Unfortunately the next train would have been too late. I had also forgotten my phone so I couldn't get hold of the ride leader. At least they refunded my ticket.

My day started in a similar way. Woke with alarm for dog walks and slowly getting dressed (sluggishly more like) got a text saying "did you get last night's text" saw I had....they're unable to come today, he forgot he was working today. Alarm again tomorrow
If the weather stays nice your way have a ride round somewhere nice in your village? Peeing down here so only Nina will get walked...if she's lucky

So my gp has singed me off work with 'work related stress'. My readings on work days are always 16+ my BP yest was 180/110 pulse 102 and I've been getting chest pains.

So now I'm stressing how I'll cope on stat sick pay and also stressing that it will effect me getting the new job that I've been offered (my dream job)!

Ahhhhh!!!! Stressing about stress. Not a good feeling

It's so annoying when people text you and you don't see the message. It has happened to me a few times. I think it is because my mobile is not glued to me, unlike some people!
In the end I tried to do some work and was planning to cycle up the hill that is at the top of Portsmouth, (I HATE hills) but went back to bed and slept for England.:wideyed:

You must've needed the sleep.....mine was on charge beside my bed so really don't know how I missed it. If I've received 2 around the same time tho, my phone thinks if I've read/replied one I've read them all. Could be that. Must admit mine is all but glued to my person

Had run out of ground mixed spice for an emergency baking project (last-minute gift) yesterday so had the 'brilliant' idea of whizzing up some whole cloves and half a cinnamon stick in my Kenwood mini chopper.

Poor thing - the bowl bit is only plastic, and I've utterly wrecked it!

I wouldn't mind, but I use it several times a week and rely on it for my cauliflower rice!

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Oooh, dear. Maybe you can get a replacement parts from an eBay shop?

Good plan @Sable_Jan - in fact I picked up a slightly bigger version with a glass bowl at the supermarket for less than £20 as I was passing yesterday lunchtime - I no longer have to do my cauli in 2 batches now - am so pleased - it's a win win!

Unscream!
