This has NOTHING to do with Diabetes......

I remember some years ago an idea was floated where the penalty shoot-out happened before the game kicked off, the idea being that at least one team wouldn't play for a draw, nothing ever came of it though.

How bizarre.

If I remember correctly it was trialled in in one of the cups during the lower league involvement. Fairly sure I saw it happen in a Cambridge United cup game, I don't remember the year although it would have been late 80s probably, and I don't remember the competition or the opposition!

I hear what you are saying about penalties guys, and it's been horrid to watch my sons take them.........But it's so goooood when your team actually wins on penalties! :) After that it just doesn't matter that the Italian police keep you in the ground for 2 and a half hours after the match, that's just plenty of time for making up new chants. It's so amazing to win like that after a dire match. Controversial of me, I know, but it was such a great night in Rome! The ultras weren't so friendly, but hey winning on penalties.......priceless. Now that wasn't a long journey home at all, even though we hadn't slept for 30 hours. However, I suppose if we had lost.........

Played at Palace in the League cup and went to pens finished after 11pm. Last train at that time 11pm! Lots of Rovers supporters stuck in that there London. Good job we went by coach!

No! Got me on that one!

Was a bit poor because of the heat reaching a crescendo in the last 5 (10) minutes!

Orange!

I just heard the replay of the Columbian commentator's reaction to the game, he was a very, very, very happy and excited commentator and in the studio, Ian Wright was miming to it. A treat to hear, and to watch Mr I W was so good and it did make me smile

Costa Rica up 1-0:)

Extra time coming, Greece will equalise in last 5 minutes!

Got beat though!

Noooooo! I've got Germany in the sweep! £150 if they win the competition!
I've changed my mind now! Lol!
Gonna do my sceptic peg thingy now!

Germany 2-0 Algeria

Lahm will have an influence on the first goal.

Should have worked on Blackpool Pier! Ha!

You've jinxed it now Gypsy Nosher Lee lol

Ladbrokes offering 18/1 for Muller to score next and Germany to win 2-0, might be worth a punt...

Germany remind me of when youth find themselves playing with linesman for the first few times, the goalie does all the sweeping, cos the back four are trying to catch the Algerians offside!

Anyone's game, will Algeria tire, think their game plan is good!
