Hi everyone, can anybody advise me regarding a front page article on the daily express on Monday 4th March. It talked about a drug called Tresiba which provides the body with insulin over a whole day instead of taking my normal 4 injections. Has anyone got any advice about this. Apparently it is available on the NHS now at a cost of £2.20 a day. Also how does that work as I thought we got everything free being a diabetic. I haven't paid a penny over the last 13 years.

Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
Hi trickett and welcome to the forum.

Ive never heard of it to be honest but perhaps someone here will have.

As for the costs you are right meds are free for UK T1's and T2's on meds so the cost you saw was probably the cost to the NHS so £2.20 a day sounds pretty cheap, much cheaper than insulin so if it is approved I am sure it will be available soon from cash strapped health care trusts everywhere

Anyway my bumping this post may get you some more info
