Thank you for your response.
Although, infant getting diagnose with T1 is real big challenge, as infant cannot explain regarding what happening to her.
I gone through 2 Pediatric Diabetic Specialist , one is new in this field and second specialist is experienced to whom we showed showed all history and test and treatment when our infant baby was hospitalized in ICU and her test suggested she is at high risk.
Now we're home, we are been asked to prepare logs for sugar lvl, which we are doing since day one. thing is what is normal range target as both specialist has given range ie 200-300 1 dose of NovoRapid and 2 if 300+ , pre-meal x3 times and no dose if below 200.
Things is baby lvl is fluctuating as we're getting different increase/decrease every time when we give same meal to our baby, further , we are asked to check after 2 hr of meal for lvl check, therefore if we give Oatmeal which tend to have carbohydrate increase lvl by upto 100 and next time when we give oatmeal sometime it goes up 150 + and sometime below 100, therefore, we 're confused . As infant is on mother feed as well, so baby cry for thirst and feed as well.
Should we maintain 2 hr fasting after each meal to get accurate result? as baby cry for water n feed after half n hr or hr.
With reference to my 1st Post, before posting I took risk of buy new pen of NovoRapid and Lantus thinking same as it has lost it effectiveness. It was already infant bed time, we gave lantus and after 3-4 hr we check lvl came down 20 and then later infant woke up for feed and then lvl went up and later checked again then 10 lvl came down. In morning her lvl was 320, we gave 1 dose of Novorapid and to our surprise , it started working in her body and brought lvl from 312 to 217, so believe effectiveness of pen has been lost and started refrigerated again.
As this fluctuation is happening from last 3 days, before that we were giving 3 x Novorapid single dose and 2 unit Lantus in night and week laters, range was around 150-200, premeal and post meal max 250 and it would again come around 150-200 on next pre-meal, therefore Novorapid wasn't required and we were only giving 2 dose Lantus in night. Same lvl stability was going and we were told by specialist abt Honeymoon period. and all of sudden out of blue since last 3 days lvl are so much fluctuating and confusing...
Further, if we can get in touch with other parent whose children, infant have T1 , so that we can learn from their experience.
Further, when we told specialist , we were advised to increase dose, we're afraid of dose increase might not cause our baby harm , as symptons might not be understandable by us...
Please I require your guidance in this regard.
