2014 was definitely a year that saw good progress for me , ending up at 7.5%or 59. Work to be done in 2015!

My Hache BA1C work 8.3 and I thought that was really good for me considering they always used to be high but my doctors just said you can do better no encouragement and praise for getting it done that much felt really down and upset by the professional system

Just got my latest: 6.2 (44)!

Two years ago; in November 2012 before this all started (or rather, retrospectively, when it all started), I was 6.3... It was enough for them to say 'your HbA1c is a bit high; lets monitor it' - but nothing more at that point... Course we know how that one eventually panned out.

But this is the 1st time in two years I've gotten below that initial 'alert' that something was up... So whilst it's not quite where the non-D's hang out, I'm still feeling pretty happy with that... :)

Clocked a 6.1% today, even including my not so low carb Christmas. Good enough for the Consultant to say - "As you know, that's in the non-diabetic range"! Nice to have a consultant say that to you as a T1!

Well done - lots of hard work to get there I presuppose?

I'm in the same boat: I've set a target of 6.5% (47.5) by the end of 2015... last one was 7.8% (62), so I've a fair few hurdles to jump :wideyed:

P.s. I love the graph... think I may just have to run my own and frame it on the wall!

Hey @badbrogs21 , so you're 13% (119) now... with a little bit of soul searching (or, if you're like me, a LOT of soul searching), reading around this fantastic website and forum for ideas, experiences, etc., and a good honest talk with your 'Healthcare team' and 'loved ones', you'll knock that back by 2% this year...

(Type 1) Diabetes is a life-long journey down long and winding road full of bear pits, dead ends and lots of 'Gingerbread' houses along the way: the trick is to stay focused on the task you've set yourself and get friends, family and colleagues on board - you'll be amazed at just how supportive these people can be if you explain what's the issue, etc.

And as for those who hold you back or try to lead you off the 'straight and narrow'? Stay focused and leave them to fall by the wayside like broken branches and empty fast-food containers... sooner or later they'll come on board or save you the hassle. ;)

Good luck and best wishes.

C.

That's fantastic that you're getting it all under control... just a few words of caution: don't rush it.
Depending upon how long you've been running high, bringing your levels back down too quickly can cause the acceleration of complications (especially retinopathy) - its what happened to me, and various ophthalmologists and diabetologists have confirmed this to me since.
Talk with the specialists and agree an appropriate set of objectives for the year as that will help you stay focused ... as well as happy when you're achieving / exceeding them (or not too downtrodden when things don't quite go to plan).
Good luck with your efforts - and keep posting ☺

In September I got my HbA1C result of 9.4%, from my blood test in December I just got my new HbA1C result of 6.8%! Is a drop like that common in three months or could my September reading have been skewed some how? Since May I had been using an app to count calories, weighing all my food so I conveniently knew how many carbs I was having for my injections - this lead to me being very surprised with my September result since I felt my control was good (although I agree with it being even better now, basal reduced from 30 this time last year to 18. Bolus reduced from 2:1 to 1.5:1)

My HbAic was way up 5 weeks ago. Well over 6. I started my own low carb meals, following my previous knowledge of the Dr Atkins diet. I lost 17lbs in six weeks. BP was absolutely normal again, and my HbA1c was down to 4.4 this amazed my doctor and the nurses at the health centre. But the secret ingredient to this was also doing Urine Therapy. I know it is a little off putting until you get down to learning about it properly. But one of the best health giving methods of personal free medication and without side effects.
Two. Books. The Water of Life. And. Your Own PERFECT medicine. Both available in IBooks
I have them on my IPad. Definitely worth a look for those who don't think it is ridiculous.

Ye I understand that I'm so sick of my bloods being high. I'm testing my bloods every 2 hours and using correction doses as I want to get !y insulin right so I'm doing this and seeing my diabetic team to see what adjustments I need to do. I am hypoing 2 to 4 times a day ATM due to working in an intense position I am a manager at a retail store. I get stressed easy and my bloods go up or down ATM I no that the blood results can have fake readings due to this so I am going to let the experts help me with my adjustments but I'll get there
