Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Ye I understand that I'm so sick of my bloods being high. I'm testing my bloods every 2 hours and using correction doses as I want to get !y insulin right so I'm doing this and seeing my diabetic team to see what adjustments I need to do. I am hypoing 2 to 4 times a day ATM due to working in an intense position I am a manager at a retail store. I get stressed easy and my bloods go up or down ATM I no that the blood results can have fake readings due to this so I am going to let the experts help me with my adjustments but I'll get there

To stop us hijacking this thread, I'll PM you, just to say publically that your situation and endeavours are similar to what I went through and did around 8 years ago - so much so it sends shivers done my spine thinking about it! :nailbiting:

Hi - am newbie. Only diagnosed with diabetes 6weeks ago after routine blood and urine tests after serious weight loss over 2 years from 94kg to 70kg. Had reading of 148 which both Dr and specialist were v impressed with !!!! Am now injecting 4 times a day and getting some control. Blood sugar was routinely HI (over 35) but now i have got it down to range of 6-20 over course of day

Pretty scared still

Hi Andy.

Don't be scared - read everything, esp Gary Scheiner Think like a pancreas and the Dr Bernstein Diabetes Solution http://www.diabetes-book.com/

Think about low carb, ie LCHF. It's the best way to get flat and low blood sugars. This source - http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/sp3index.php - is reliable and helpful.

So reAd, and plan your line of attack. Good luck.

5% only been diagnosed for 9 months now and my meter numbers have been slowly creeping up, have a check up on the 21st so we will see!

My newest result (today) is 5,5 % ! I am so happy, because when I was diagnosed in May it was 14,6 % , then in August 6,9 %, in October 6,1 % and now I have the best result so far !

Daisy - be proud of yourself, you had a lot of stress recently, yet you still got a 5.5, some people would give their eye teeth for that.
Well done you, CONGRATULATIONS
I have battled with my HbA1c level for far too long, I have had rare moments when my reading have been 7.5 my best ever being 7.0, but I'm afraid that's a long time ago and I continue to try to improve it. My HbA1c remains approximately 8.5 or 8.4 currently and yes I would concur that I'd give my eye teeth to get a reading of 7.0 let alone 5.5. Don't beat yourself up if you have got an extra .3 on a HbA1c result that remains within 5%. The time to get a little concerned is when it gets to the high 7% reading. You've got a long way to go before it'll get to that.

P.S. What is your secret? I'm literally dying to know?

Re: What are your H test results?

Mine was recently 6.6%. Been diabetic for the last 21 years and so far never higher than 7.3%
Also had D2 for 21 years had my 3monthly last week, 6.2 , best yet, been low carbing for four months now so shall try and keep going, only lost 1.7 kilos though

Mine is now 4.24 %. This is the lowest it has ever been and this is due to the LCHF Lifestyle I have lived for the past 24 months.

My Hbac1 was 61 in June of last year when I was diagnosed as being diabetic .I'm not sure what that % is I think its in the region of 8% if anyone knows maybe they can enlighten me :)

Had mine done today. So hopefully I'll find out the results soon. Does anyone else have trouble actually having the blood taken? The nurse had 3 attempts on me today and eventually got it from just above my wrist and even then it was only a small amount so might not be enough to test with!

7.7 according to my charts :)

Had mine a few days ago.. It was 6.4% or 46.4 .. So happy. Have had my pump for just under 3 months. I was 7.8% ish before pump and that was a good result for me! Yay. :)

Just had mine back... 6.5 (or 48) which I'm delighted with, considering it's only been 7 months since diagnosis! It would have been even lower too if Christmas was taken out of the equation.

My last HbA1c is 7,8.Im so happy because my previous was 9%.I had a problem during the whole last year.

Just had results back and end of last year I was 95, now I'm at 72 so improvement is happening :D no idea what it is in mmol, think the 95 is 11.0 mmol but no idea really :)

Just got the result from last week.... and it is down to something as unbelievable as 33!
