@hh1 my last diabetic nurse did not have a clue about diabetes. I did tell her never to advise me on anything diabetes related. She did say to me that since I have been on the pump I haven't ordered a repeat on my Tresiba! She did think that I needed background insulin while pumping......from a GP diabetic nurse was almost farcical

Our diabetes nurse invited me to a review at the surgery a couple of years back, I mentioned that I use the hospital clinic for my T1 treatment but she said to come anyway, before greeting me on arrival to tell me she didn't know why I'd been sent for as it was a T2 clinic, I got a blood and urine test out of it and I get a snotty letter from the practice each year now telling me I've not had my review even though I go twice yearly to the hospital diabetes centre.

I sympathise with you porl69, as I had exactly the same thing happen with my long acting insulin. Explained why I needed it on repeats to receptionist, dr still rang me and queried it. Happens once a year at least. A few years back diabetes nurse at surgery tried to tell me I HAD to be using long acting insulin daily as a type 1 even though I'm on a pump. Gave up in the end, took prescription and tried my best never to see her again!! Thankfully all my diabetes care is under the hospital now, just have to have twice yearly hba1c tests done at surgery.

@Hopeful34 yep same here. My DSN, consultant and dietitian are amazing people. Doctors "specialist" hmmmmmmmm

Changed Gp 5 years ago when we moved. They have been much better than the previous one. They basically just do what my consultant writes and asks them to do re changes. Always done quickly too.

My visits with my endo are mostly just any supply changes you need, and then just general gab. Same with diabetic educator. I could drop the DE but she's a type 1 and so knows more about actual life as a type 1. She also does phys therapy out of the hospital and is there every day. My endo is on another island and flies over once a month and right now not at all. So if I ever have to go into the hospital I like the idea that the DE is familiar with me and has said have them call her right away. She has said the hospital has been real cooperative about letting you have your pumps and you keeping control of your own blood sugars if you can.

So I will keep seeing the DE twice a year, the endo now because of insurance I have to see her every 3 months. My GP I have to see every 6 months too. Sigh before diabetes I used to only see a doctor when actually needed. At least the telehealth visits are pretty easy we're doing now. My husband prefers seeing them in person......I'll keep telehealth visits if I can I think. I might feel different if I didn't already know them.

Morning, 6.7, a heads up if you're planning to plaster, there's a plaster shortage and I'll have to drive to Harrogate shortly for a sack, a 48 flipping mile round trip for a £7 25kg bag, there's some local on Facebook but it's £40 a sack, £40, obviously I've not sworn and cursed about this as I'll have time for that in the slow traffic on the H'gate bypass in a while.

My libre/Miaomiao expired at 4am, you get an extra 24 hours using the combo so I just need to learn AM/PM for next time, I've had the new one on over night so it just needs to warm up

Duh....


Edit. Double duh, in the excitement of ringing the store, to find they didn't actually have any I appear not to have injected for breakfast, and that bowl of porridge doesn't work without insulin, but I've had a rage blouse so will drop from 20mmols pretty swiftly

Must be something going round @kev-w, forgot my insulin before dinner last night, started to feel it just as heading towards bedtime. I won't rage blus if I'm going to sleep, but seem to have made about the right adjustment as I woke on a 4.2 (according to Libre which is running lower than my meter). I'll take that.

Btw, had a weird experience the night before. For the first time I can remember I dreamt about food; don't know where I was but I was ordering chocolate-coated half-round ice creams, white choc or milk choc, don't know who they were for but at least half a dozen. I also ordered a whole jug of fruit (cherries & strawberries) topped with liquid milk chocolate and whipped cream just for me. I woke up at 4.30 just as it was ready and discovered I was hypo at 2.3. Was I dreaming about what my body needed? Anyone else ever dreamt of food and woken hypo? I had a couple of jelly babies which fixed the hypo but I was craving chocolate so badly I ate all the chocolate off a chunky Kit Kat. Not the biscuit, just the chocolate. Woke up okay after that episode too. All a bit strange.

Morning all. Am in the process of an afternoon basal test. Last food at 7am this morning. I am starving just thinking that I am not going to be eating until 7 tonight. And now I have mentioned it I am getting a bit more hungry .......Tech is making things difficult as well.......just finger pricked 8.1, Watlaa 8.1 X-Guess 16 with a double up arrow!!!!!

Keep meaning to have a chat with you regarding the "set up." The watlaa is great when calibrated. xDrip on my phone needs it's own calibration & sometimes is out by 0.1.

But what really makes me laugh with this device (Samsung Galaxy Note4) it's a great device when bridged directly to MM. Flawless.
But oddly, its flakey at updating from the watch whilst about my person unless i'm browsing, listening to mp3s, using messenger or in conversation.. whilst on charge in the other room at the front of the house or with the headphone cable plugged in? it's great. i woke this morning at 3.8 (I'd already been awake for 10 minutes.) & the phone kicked off before i got the "wrist rattle..."

LOL, talking of wrist rattle. i got slapped on the forearm a few nights back, drifting high.. My wife woke sharpley & thought it was a wasp...

@Jaylee Set-up wise they both work pretty much in tandem. I would say 9 out of 10 sensors are pretty close. This one I am on now is being a bit of a t**t to say the least. Fine on Watlaa but a country mile out on X-guess

I find the odd sensor can get a little scatty coinciding with a fair bit of arm movement wearing long sleeves? Using a saw comes to mind..? Hammering nails too.

I can do it quite easily when my attention is drawn elsewhere. I simply forget the time?
In a studio situation or doing a gig, I prefer to "sing for my supper." Maitaining an "edge," & to be fair a full stomach restricts the diaphram with breathing..

Problem I got at the mo is I KNOW I am basal testing and can not eat. One of the garage customers just brought chips in and is sat in the MOT waiting part eating them....and I can now smell the sat and vinegar and I want a chip..................or I want a bag of chips
