Congratulations on a good HbA1c! I cannot get lower than 58.

Nice hba1c too. Are you going to be seeing this nurse at some point? I'd love to sit in on that conversation.
 
How funny @Hopeful34 and @Fairygodmother ! But also scary!

Our good A1c's confuse the heck out of some people! But scary that there are still medical personal that don't know the difference! I still see that confused look when they ask my A1c and you can tell they are trying to process she's not a diabetic, but oh she has type 1 so.......huh.

I am fine, still recovering. My wrist is doing great, I have almost complete normal mobility, just working on strengthening. My back is being slower to heal, but slowly improving. I caught a cold of some type for the first time in a long long time. I wasn't that sick but I had a nasty dry cough that killed my back for a few days. I'm still coughing some. I'm allergic to the regular cough medicines so I have to rely on codeine pills. It seems the old codeine cough syrups without other stuff in it aren't made anymore. But I'm basically fine. It's a beautiful summer here!
 
I agree it's scary @Marie 2 Good to hear about your wrist, but yes backs are tricky sometimes, and coughing when you've got a bad back can be so painful.

Please could you send some of your beautiful weather to the uk? It's cold and wet just for a change today.
 
So my wife went away for a girly weekend in Sidmouth. Great to have her back..

More of a housewarming party for one of her recently divorced friends in a new pad…

She brought me back a gift from this seaside town. Sidmouth vodka.
More healthier than a stick of rock.

I get to have the plate that was put in my wrist taken out............. so looking forward to it! NOT!!!!

I had an inflamed area that hadn't gone away that they have been X-raying every month. They didn't know what it was. My wrist had stopped hurting and I was building strength, had great mobility. But it started hurting. Not anything major, but it wasn't supposed to. So Cat Scan and then MRI later and I have a small area of bone sticking up, plus the very tip of a screw and they think it's likely the bone that is aggravating my tendons. So they will take out the plate just in case and shave/grind the piece of bone sticking out. It's supposed to be a lot easier surgery than putting it in was. And a faster recovery. I sure hope so!
 
I am wishing you best of luck with that operation. You having had monthly X-rays shows that your doctors are thorough, and caring.
 
@Hopeful34 Yes, Nov 5th! I really really hate surgery! No one likes it of course, but even when I was younger and before type 1 I hated getting knocked out.

I was impressed with the first anesthesiologist that I had when in January the plate was first put in. I had guessed wrong on how much to lower my basal rate so I started rising during surgery. I had talked to her before hand and she had asked what my "normal" was. So when I hit somewhere between 9.9-11 (180-200) she actually gave me some insulin and I came out of surgery at around 7.2-8.3 (130-150). I have her name for this time if I have a choice!!!!! About 7 years ago in Calif when I had surgery I started high around 9.9 (180) and dropped to 8.3 (150) during surgery and the anesthesiologist freaked and gave me glucose that brought me up to 13.8 (250) and there I stayed until I could give myself some insulin after. And that was at a major university teaching hospital. That seems to be more a norm than trying to lower BG levels.

Honestly they seem to care here a lot more about everything than back in Calif. While we are short doctors and nurses etc, I think they are overwhelmed with how many people they have to deal with in So Calif.

It just shows what a difference one person taking 'charge' of our blood sugar compared to another can make. I hope and pray that you get the first person again, and come round at a level you're happy with.
 
My latest hba1c is 39, and a gp at the surgery has reported it as 'abnormal spoke to duty Dr'!! Loads of other tests that were in normal parameters have also been reported the same way. It beats me as to why!!
