Lets see you made a TV Remote sandwhich then after making that you took an empty bag to work? :bag:

No no I won' say a thing :hilarious:

LOL.....nooooooo.......I have a full Asda bag (apart from my Fiasp pen and BG test kit there is nothing in there which will help me in any way or form today) and an empty sandwich box. So a trip to Tesco for the £3 meal deal today. I got ham and cranberry sauce sarnies at home as well

Hard luck there @porl69 tho I guess we've all done something similar :)

Don't let the missus know as you may get the sarnies for tea :p

She is in work tonight, so I think I will have them tomorrow for lunch (as long as the edges haven't curled up (Could cut them off thou)). OR you could be correct and I will have them for tea lol

I used to carry a 2p in my pocket in case I needed to make a phone call.
But that just dates me now.

My parents wouldn't give me any money when I was a child - just in case I spent it on sweets lol - BUT they would say that I could reverse charge phone call them if I was in trouble
AND now I feel old lol

Good morning everyone, not much to report today, no nasty hypos after carrying the dog upstairs, though blood sugar did drop a bit, but then it decided to rise again.

My blood sugar was beautifully stable in July, and now it's gone a bit more erratic. I wonder if it is the mugwort? It's interesting how the Freestyle Libre reveals changes, thinking back this may have happened in August before, but I think I just assumed it was some sort of failing on my part, rather than the mugwort pollen in the air.

Empowering little thing, isn't it.
Glad the dog carrying has less drastic consequences today. I do think the Libre is great for showing patterns and changes in them; all I want it to do now is tell me exactly what causes them :hilarious:

Have had a strange day so far. Woke up to a perfect 6.1 this morning, well that's great for me. Usual dose and had museli and greek yogurt, instead of museli and milk. Normally about 1 hour later I would be sitting around the 8 mark. However about an hour later I felt just a wee bit strange and BG had dropped to 4.2!!!!!

For me at work I sometimes go into a slight panic mode, so taking no chances had a handful of emergency Skittles, around 15g of carbs and things will improve, eh No. 15 minutes later its dropped to 4.1. I remain calm have a coffee and 2 digestives, and check every 5 minutes, thank goodness for the Libre. It does start to go up very slowly. Even an hour later its still only at 5.6.

By 12.30 though the revenge of the Skittles have kicked in and I am now 8.4

Not had a drop in the morning like that for years

hope you all are having a good day

How is the pump going Mel, is it the greatest diabetic tool yet?

And, on that topic. can anyone explain why I feel the pull towards any ripe looking blackberries even when I know they are as tart as a lady of the night?
Same here, if I see a ripe blackberry, come to think of it ANY fruit that's ripe, I do tend to go pick it and eat it

morning all, BGs have been a bit above range recently - I'm still suffering sciatic pain, thankfully not as bad as it was but it's so **** draining being constantly in pain or discomfort in this heat. I'm constantly clock watching to work out when I can take the next kind of pain killers so the D management is sort of on auto pilot.

Have a good day all.

Had sciatica for 18 months. I sympathise. Had tons of physio etc. Before I went down an injection route the physio suggested Pilates for bad backs which took place at the hospital. Never looked back. Might be a route to go.

Afternoon friends. I went to bed on a 10.5 and awoke on a 5.0, but had 2 hypo's this morning, even though I only had 1/2 unit of NovoRapid for Brekki.
A very busy morning though ( but a very nice one):) my son came round, then my friend Jo and my daughter and baby Cleo :dummy1: mum and baby left about 15 minutes ago, so all quiet now.

My son has recently been diagnosed with Sciatica, amongst his many other medical conditions, but not diabetes :)

It's a PITA quite literally, just cant get comfortable today. Odd thing is my back isn't really the trouble at the mo, constant pain in the left hip area, back of thigh and knee, and occasional shooting pain in the calf and when sat without too much pain suffer from pins and needles in my entire leg. A slight change in posture and I'm back to square one. Anyone know of any good swear words - apart from the norm - I'm running out! Doctor has referred me to the physio but she said by the time they get their act together it'll probably have past - it's been just about 6 weeks now, at least I can get up out the chair without swearing too much and walk with out looking like some demented has been. Just changed my seat at work which has a softer seat base which eases it but hasn't got so much back support - which is/was the root cause of the problem in the first place.

Standing up is ok for a short while, walking a bit helps but too much and I'm struggling. sitting once I get in a good position is ok again only for a short time then constantly trying to find a spot that is ok wincing all the time.

Hello, I don't post here much but just want to vent a bit. I didn't think I'd live to see the effects of global warming, we talk about coasts going under water but actually this hotter summers even by a few degrees have such a change on me.

Hopefully my attachment works, last week it was much cooler from Tuesday to Friday - around 21 to 23c. Saturday kicks in and we're back to 26c and you can see how it pushes my insulin resistance up. Keep tweaking the basal but not to much effect. Even went for a jog on Friday and that didn't seem to make a difference.

I'm welcoming the cooler weather again.

For reference, top line is readings, purple is carbs, pink is bolus and brown basal.

Re sciatica, I've not had it but have tweaked the sciatic nerve before, and I found rolling the affected area on a tennis ball against a wall to be therapeutic, same as for aching soles of your feet/policeman's heel is eased by rolling the sole on a golf ball.

I'm gone adventuring, City are playing their last ever night game at their ground so I'm going to go meet up with my boy and watch, I've missed the kick off but will see the second :p I'd not have bothered if still on Lantus as I needed time after tea to see what's happening, so I'll be back later either cursing or praising this new basal :)

Evening all! Had a lovely birthday day out with the fam, despite living here for nearly fourteen years, I’d never been inside Cardiff Castle, so we went there. Was amazing! Sugars running in the low fours all day, I think my “shark week” basal is too aggressive so I’ve backed it off a bit.

And now I’m in my pyjamas with a goblet of pink wine and am about to eat my birthday cake.

Recipe says it’ll serve two, and it will. Me, twice. :D

13g carbs for the whole thing :smug:

@smc4761 - going pretty well considering it’s only my 5th day with it, I think!

Hello Emma, good to have you post here, unfortunately no one can do anything about the weather, except sympathise.

My blood sugar this afternoon behaved much better than yesterday.

I think the dog might not like the Edinburgh festival, I live next door to a venue where there are a lot of people outside there, during August. I have been trying to work out why he has suddenly gone off walks, and I read something that said they can be very sensitive to things outside.

Maybe I am too, maybe that's why my insulin has gone a bit weird, and maybe it's not the mugwort at all, or maybe it's both.:arghh:

@Mel dCP Oh! that cake looks fab, can you PM me the recipe please? :)

Evening all.

Fine day nearly in the green band on the Etch A Sketch all day :)

Sat here listening to Kraftwerk while designing Wedding stationery for our up and coming wedding, nearly all done just need to print out the Table plan ones on the paper going to use, to see what its like but will wait till the weekend for that.
