Hi all my Medtronic pump chums. I am due to attend hospital in just under 2 weeks to get my pump, which I believe will be the Medtronic 640g, thats the one my hospital have previously exclusively used

Can anyone confirm what you also get with the pump, if anything, in the way of CGM or similar, or is it just the pump. I currently use the Libre system.

There are a few videos on Youtube and they all seem to have people using the pump with some sort of CGM

Thanks

Morning Daphne, I have some left over, so maybe use it as a topping on a small baked potato?
Sounds like a good idea - I experimented with a baked potato the other day with home made mushroom and bacon sauce - started at 5.4, 7.6 after 1 hour but down to 6.1 after 2 hours so reckon that was ok. Hope you enjoyed yours

Even I’m not brave enough to try Frosties - hubby has them though but he’s not diabetic and skinny as a rake - life is so unfair sometimes although he has some major health issues so I shouldn’t complain! At least we’re lucky to have the NHS as between the 2 of us we would be bankrupt if we had to pay for the tests, scans and medical treatment etc that we’ve had over the last year or so.

Breakfast for me is during winter, porridge, summer, granola or muesli maybe yoghurt and fruit. Occasionally toast and poached eggs. No matter what i have though I always get a huge spike usually up by around 5 points. I have tried everything, pre bolus, up to 45 mins, more insulin than maybe i should but makes no difference. About 2.5 hours after Brekkie I will have risen by about 5 points however by lunch normally back to normal levels
I have Greek yoghurt with berries during the week and eggs on toast (one slice of Tesco High Protein at 10g carbs per slice) at week-ends

Currently doing oats ( posh porridge) at the moment.
Used to have cheapish oats that did cause a spike, not to bad though as a pre bolus kept things fairly level.
Over the festive season we shopped a bit up market and i recklessly purchased M&S whole oats. The appearance alone should have told me things might be different, no chaff, just oats.
Leave them to soak in milk overnight. 1 part oats 2 parts milk. Nuked in the morning and strangely they give no spike, if anything I have to be careful as I find myself going low. A bit of tinkering with ratios and timing have sorted it out.

Just had Devils food for tea (140 grams :joyful::hilarious: ) not sure if should add into that thread about "who eats normal" as there are a couple of low carbs amongst the crowd, think, one said low carb is 120g but not sure if they meant per meal, per day, per week or per year :wideyed:

Anyway , split dose time as it will rocket later on, expect to be in double figures in the morning so might as well end the night with Belgian chocolate :joyful: :pompous:

Hi di hi campers :D

Hi di ho :D

Morning fellow teabags. Think I must have upset the gods of diabetes, Tate and Lyle

For the last 2 weeks in January my overnight BG was, for me, brilliant. I would go to bed with a BG of about 6 stay flatish or even drop slightly overnight waking with a BG of about 4.5. A couple of mornings it had actually gone below 3 most of night.

I was on holiday first week in Feb and my BG were all over the place, mainly my fault. Since coming back though my overnight BG have been the opposite. Going to bed on a BG of 6 ish and waking up with BG of 13/14.

I eat pretty much the same food at same time, I am a creature of habit.

This morning has really taken the mick though. Went to bed with BG of 6.8, woke up at 5.45 with BG of 13.9, ooops. I normally get up at 6.45 so took my full injection of Novorapid, as a pre bolus, at 5.50.Got up, and checked BG at 7.05, it is now at 14.7 WTAF:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I am not ill have no stress, apart from my bloody BG just cant figure it out at all

Morning all.

I rarely eat breakfast (see, I’m paying attention to the thread). Black coffee by the bucketload!

At HorribleWelshComp again today and Monday, collecting the HideousSmallDiesel tomorrow, which will add a couple of hours of abject misery to my already fairly hateful work days. Total first world problem, I appreciate. I’m lucky to have a car at all. I’m now dreading the week in GrimHerefordComp at the end of the month, that’s two hours driving each way. I really enjoyed the drive there and back in my Focus :) And I’m aware I sound like a spoilt brat. But I do rely on my time in the car to get my head together for the day and decompress afterwards. Hey ho, it is what it is.

BG ok fwiw.

Hope you all have a lovely Friday xxx
