I'm so late to this party today, another busy day here, but happy anniversary @Mel dCP & Husbeast, @porl69 hope your parrot has a happy new home, @karen8967 I have just one suggestion - sometimes I get caught out the day after I've exercised as the effects can run on, but hope it's settled now.

That's really all I can remember, just to say love some of the new avatars, but it's starting to mess with my head 'cos I'm not at all sure who's who any more...

@hh1 . I’ve tried to go with an avatar that is more representative of my gender. Hopefully it saves confusion I’ve caused you in the past.

New avatars are playing havoc with my bad memory....but it makes me read the thread harder lol

Morning friends :D
I woke up on a beautiful 7.2 but body is in pain today, I guess another excuse not to leave my VIP executive comfort zone. :hilarious:
I don't know what to have for breakfast. A bit of a potato brain this morning :hilarious:

I have become a small fluffy dog called Dizzy for a while. This is what he looks like when I'm talking to him and he wonders *** I'm going on about.

A happy 5.6 this morning - fairly miraculous but I'm happy.

Today is just clean out the freezers, sort out the stuff for daughter in law and put it back in a section all of its own so it;s easy to grab on Sunday when they're leaving. Also, I want all the drawers re-ordered so that the drawers can be labelled, and people can make a mega-effort and keep things where they're meant to be!

@Knikki -the needle part does go in the sharps box but the dustmen don't know that.
They see a hint of syringe and panic.
I guess that is based on experience and training which doesn't expect environmentally and needle conscious people with diabetes.

I've had the same with the recycle men.....they see the small syringe from a set change and panic (I don't blame them mind)....I have told them I have a sharps bin and that there is defo no sharps in the bin :). Wasn't ther a case a few years ago where a binman up North got pricked by a "diabetic syringe"?? Or am I making it up lol

@karen8967 how are your bloods today??

and he now has diabetes??!?!?:hilarious:

I don't blame them (the binmen and their actions) and it makes sense once you know. I'm sure they put up with enough rubbish as it is! ;)

So correcting before bed, if I've had new potatoes for tea/dinner/supper (delete as appropriate) my correction ratio is a lot lower then any other time, woke in the night feeling low, had 3 glucotabs and waited to see if my body would let me go back to sleep....5mins later got up and went to the kitchen and did a test, 2.3 - usually glucotabs act fast for me so god knows what i was when i woke. Honeymonster took over and I had 3 more glucotabs and a mini mars bar, 11.something this morning........:sour:

So the low was 5hrs after both correction and basal - which one caused the hypo?!

happy to say 5.6 now.

:wideyed::wideyed::hilarious::hilarious: haha, Too funny @slip. I thought he brought charges because of the worry over AIDS!! Could have been in the USA......going to do a Google search now

Work systems are down due to some exchange problems- we are talking to each other and using mobiles for the outside world.

I’m just about to start lunch as 7.3 is close enough.

think we may have lost @porl69 to the world of google, hope he finds his way back out soon and in one piece!

I have a large sharps bin in the utility, but also keep the small Douwe Egberts jars after the coffee has been used up because they make handy little containers for the bedroom and sitting room. When one fills up I tip it into the large yellow tub. Saves having to toddle out to the utility just to dispose of a used needle and yes, I'm bone idle.
