Type 1'stars R Us

Well I was off bed a while back. Flicking through tv channels and remembered recording ABBA in concert the other night.
I'm now sitting here transfixed by the music and realising why Agnetha held me so captivated all those years ago.
Stunningly beautiful.:).
Not sure how my sugars will cope but my heart is racing:).
For now I'm in 1976 and I ain't even got diabetes:).

Oh dear I’ll have to roll up my sleeves and fight you for the hand of the outstandingly beautiful Agnetha Faltskog

1976 a hot summer and ABBA had 3 number ones that year

I was 13 that year and she was a big big crush of mine

How old were you in 1976?

Hi @Cumberland . I was wondering how long it was going to take you to throw down the gauntlet.:):)
I recall us having a discussion about " our " Agnetha many moons ago.
Back in the summer of '76 I was 12. Not a teenager until December.
When she struts on stage to sing "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" even at the ripe old age of 54 I find myself mesmerised.

I can se it now. 2 middle aged T1's fighting and hypoing over a woman ( albeit a beautiful Swedish one ).

Good number for yourself this morning, I hope the rest of the day has followed the same pattern.

Full English and a bit of shopping in Burton on Trent this morning. Pre bolus before we set out and bolus on ordering food seemed to work just about right. Was starting to drop has breakfast arrived but by time we started shopping I climbed and then levelled off. If only it happened that way all the time.:).
This afternoon was a DIY visit to daughters new house. Curtain tracks up for both grandkids, mirrors up in bedroom and living room for daughter and garden hose installed for all of them.
Home now, chill out, chicken salad on the cards.
Hope you all have a good evening.

I turned 13 in August 1976 so we’re both 1963 babies

I remember them winning Eurovision and thought she was attractive then wearing her iconic sparkly blue outfit and silver platform boots, to me she outshone the others that night

She’s class and what a beautiful voice to match her beautiful looks

Needless to say I have the full collection of ABBA songs

What would be your top 5 ABBA songs?

1963 a good year for men with taste in music and women.
I have to admit I've always been a rock music lover BUT I make an exception with ABBA. The sound the songs the whole persona was just and still is amazing.
Top 5 songs? Good question. Here goes.
1. Waterloo. Is was the start and I just can't help singing , humming along to it.
2. Chiquitita.
3. Take a chance on me.
4. So long.
5.Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.
Notable mentions to .
The winner takes it all.
Voulez vous.
Eagle.

5.5 fasting, 6.2, 6.6 and last one 6.3

You having s good day?
Been a busy day but have stayed between 4 and 8 on the dexcom. Had 3 biscuits before leaving daughters about an hour ago, feeling peckish. Dexcom has just alarmed to say I'd gone above 11. Not to worried, going to pre bolus for dinner soon so will sort it out then.

Waterloo as their best one and the bird with the dark hair > the one with the blonde :)

The day didn't go to plan, eldest child caught me as I was going to the gym so I've been in all day, wandered up to 9.5 but I didn't correct as I was still hoping to get to the gym. But anyway....

114g carbs for tea, supermarket best fish pie, egg fried noodles and mixed steamed veg, served in 5 mins as I pre bolussed a little bit back.

I liked So long as well as Eagle

Like you I’m more into rock and recall back in the 70s it was hip to despise ABBA except I didn’t

Going to see Def Leppard in December looking forward to it

Did you get into punk rock?

Yeah it wasn't cool to walk around with ABBA emblazoned on the back of your denim cut off.:).
Can't say I ever got the punk thing, not sure why but it never hit the right receptors.
Def Leppard should be good, especially if they do the Hysteria stuff.
I listen to a lot of stuff on YouTube nowadays. Tracks I'd completely forgotten about suddenly appear.

It always happens. I'm the same, have a great day and then a rogue number comes along to knock me back into reality.
There's so much more to this game than the occasional high or low number.
How long have you been diagnosed?
I'm 27 yrs ,I have a feeling you have more years than me.

The film 'Muriel's Wedding' is about an Australian girl who is besotted with Abba, Toni Collette plays Muriel and it is a brilliant film, funny parts, some sad too and Muriel and her new friend Rhonda's rendition of Waterloo is absolutely brilliant, a must see film. I am not a huge Abba fan, a bit middle of the road for me and their only male eye candy........ well erm, it would have to be Benny, definitely not Bjorn. I do like Waterloo, especially seeing this film.

Hi @Robinredbreast . Well yet again I've learnt something new.
I was aware of the film but had no idea of its content.
If the YouTube clip is anything to go by i think I'll be keeping an eye out for it. Looks like it could be a good watch.
Hope you've had a good day.

I'm casting a rogue vote for The Day Before You Came. Loved Murial's Wedding! Child crazy about Mamma Mia, so has decided Supertrouper and Honey Honey are her top ABBA songs. I had a crush on the Def Leopard drummer. Gosh this thread is weird.

It's not weird.......... it's creative :)
