Type 1'stars R Us

Well I'm still here and sat at 4.5, I expected to be higher but I'm not complaining yet :) big day for me having found a roof rack so have some catching up work today with some high climbs and I can't wait to get started, said me never.

Hard luck with the waking low @Juicyj, did you put the run on hold? I'm hoping to take both my young un and the Tresiba for a swim this afternoon but then I'm a hopeful guy :)

Have a good day y'all.

I would feel quite lost if I no longer had my Freestyle Libre @Scott-C

I do sometimes overuse information, but I seem to recall doing the same with blood tests, as well, but now it's easier to correct a bad correction.

Since I got it I have switched from Lantus to Levemir, and been able to adjust the split doses so that they seem to be about right.

I just feel I have so much more control now, and I feel quite a lot less stressed. But it's strange that pre-freestyle libre, I hadn't really thought much about how stressful it all was.

View attachment 27625 It's just dawned me I've won a gold for stupidity :banghead: after breakfast trending low, Richard head here's eating scientific porridge @ 9g carbs less per 100g for breakfast.
I live on brown basmati rice as far a sit goes :p spike free usually and have done for 25+ years.
And :)
Kev, I can read your name and address on that. I'll be round for dinner later ok? You might want to edit the pic...

Morning everyone,

I had the new sensor during the night, and worked on the assumption it was reading lower than real blood sugars.

I switched my levemir from 8 at night, and 6 morning, to 9 at night, and 5 during the day, a couple of days ago.

The daytime 5 is behaving itself quite well, but I can't decide if the night time is too low or not. With 8 my blood sugars seemed to fly off to too high too easily, but with 9 I'm dipping a little bit lower than I'm comfortable with.

But I'm not sure, not enough information yet.

Hi Di Hi Campers how is the world of questionable functioning pancreases?

Gym last night, OOOOOOO look at me Adonis went to bed on a upper 8.

Etch A Sketch then showed a lovely flat line all night, red and below 3 :woot: Awesome :wideyed:

Woke up 2.3 :lurking:

Now in work first coffee and leveled out at 10.9  a corrective dose, might stick a little more in later.

All in all not a bad start to the day :)

Meanwhile sat here watching @kev-w and seeing if he will turn green, wear a skirt, or just get normal bloods on the new insulin :)

Yes, I used to go canoeing for an afternoon on a coastal river complete with a history of shark sightings (and these were not loan sharks, either) with 'anti-hypo' provisions on board. I would watch the horizon and if things were getting a bit wobbly I would have something to eat. This was before glucose meters were available. I would reduce my insulin dose and hope for the best.
I have not lost any limbs so consider myself lucky ( and darned stupid !!!)

I’ve not lost any limbs either, either to sharks or the big D.
A friend we met in West Africa said she learned more clinical skills there (she’s a doc) than at home as she no longer had the tech to rely on. I still use the physical clues as a reason to swipe the sensor.
As I said in a previous post, the Libre’s brought changes to my management, and it’s great to dump finger-pricking. Sometimes, though, some time out’s good.
Maybe I’m also feeling nostalgic for those wild days of yoof!

Good morning, sneezed 5 times this morning, BS was okay 4.3, had a Blueberry yogurt for breakfast and a cup of tea. I am finding the days so long and mundane and thinking I have months if this. Being so active and working too, I am finding it a little hard at the moment. Friend popped round yesterday afternoon and same friend is doing a little bit of shopping for me today as they are going to Morrison's.
Happy Wednesday to you all. :)

That's the address of the pharmacy. Might have to be takeaway unless they've a canteen/kitchen in the back.

And then you'd have to check your order to make sure they've put the right number of the ordered items correctly in the carry out bag...

An odd morning so far, as in I feel 'odd' I can't put my finger on it tbh, maybe from just waking up today :) as I did stress a bit when I had the Tresiba pen in my hand last night which isn't like me...

Anyway, I'm a rising 6.4 so am going to work at last

Have a good day Kev hope the odd feeling you have leaves you

Morning Everyone. BG 6.4 on waking from 4.5 at bedtime.

Just finished my first 24 hours with my first ever CGM (G6) and i have to say it's VERY COOL.

It certainly gives me the weaponry to be able to experiment more finely with all the new information i am learning for this forum and the books i have been recommended by you guys.

Morning all! Woke up at six with a 3.1, this’ll be par for the course until the reduction in my Tresiba dose kicks in. :banghead:

Have any of you guys with Libre read “Sugar Surfing”? I read it as soon as I got my Libre on trial, and it’s really helped me get the best from it. The author is T1 as well as a doctor, one of his daughters is T1 as well. Very useful techniques.
