Urgh! 15.6 before dinner so yet another correction dose with dinner. So mush for my post this morning WINNER!!!!!
My etch-a-sketch looks like the Alps today. Ah well onwards and downwards (hopefully) with this correction dose

Yeah I am having a week like that but fortunatly I have not forgotten to inject, least I don't think I have or have I? :wideyed:

I may try the alcohol approach tonight :). May have to try a LARGE rum and sugar free coke. In fact I may try a few

That is the best plan I have seen all week

Mind you I find these days that alcohol does not seem to effect by BS Level like it used to.

Diabetes nurse rang me back and said she would locate discharge paper's and fax them over to my surgery, which btw has changed it's name. We were informed of a merger with 2 other surgeries, so whilst I was in hospital they changed the name ! Nurse did say the pen should last 28 days and if there was any problem with it I could use the Levemir I have in the fridge, I wouldn't really want to though, but if needs must.
So hopefully now, GP has seen fax and has put Tresiba on repeat script ( not holding out much hope though)

Son was here at 11am did a little gardening, then daughter and baby Cleo came to visit for a couple of hours, we had lunch, and she said I am looking a bit better :)

If do not already, suggest the doctor or nurse use dictation software, dictate the letter sign it and post it - I know discharge summaries are a pain for doctors and nurses (they have told me often enough) but you would think the health authorities in which ever country/countries/states would try to enable more efficient communications!!

Diabetes nurse said she would locate discharge paper's and fax them to surgery............... simples is usually best, it's hardly the Big Bang Theory

One night for Tresiba isn’t very long to give this a go, the profile lasts 36 hours and when you first start your Dsn would typically start you in a lower dose as you have basal already in your system so the idea is to gradually build up your dose, it took me around 3 weeks to get adjusted with tresiba but this was the best basal I used when I was in multiple daily injections :)
I do believe so but waking up at 4 AM constipated from high BG at 415 mg/dl isn't particularly fun. Regardless, I am back to Lantus I can't afford running high for 4 days! I was unable to take correction dose because I had literally no idea what to expect. I will change later on...

Can I just say a big thanks to all the posters on this discussion for their helpfulness and honesty. I think I was getting a wee bit worked up reading other threads where many folks seemed to have almost perfect BG all day and all night.

On here however many folks seem to have up and downs on a regular basis despite putting in a lot of effort. I have probably only taken my diabetes "seriously" for past year or so, despite having it for 37 years.

I do find it frustrating that I am putting in lots of effort, weighing food, reading carbs info on packaging, eating better, making adjustments, constantly, and yet my Libre graph can look like a map of Swiss Alps.

Today, 5.6 at 7 am, 11.4 by 10.30, 8.9 by 1pm and then on s steady decline until 6.00 when I had a 3.9. Soo a wee sugar boost to get me back up so doubt back to double figures by bedtime.

So thanks to all on here for your advice and reassurances that I seem to be "normalish"

Good swim Kev looks like I have competition. Training tomorrow!

I noted from your recently posted times that I'd be playing catch up :) my best is 1500m breast in just over 34 minutes but I'm not at that speed yet, I'm surprised by just how flat I've sat when swimming there as in old (Lantus) money I'd have needed more carbs and I'd have been dropping straight down when I got out, I had a small banana and a 3rd of a scone pre swim.

@smc4761 welcome to club :) even after having this wonderful and delightful condition for a couple of years now (50+) things do go up and down and round the pole sometimes, well actually a bit more than sometimes :hilarious: Still you got to smile, it makes the world a better place :smug:

Talking of which,

The soon to be Mrs Knikki has just come home from a hunting trip to Sainsbugs and I am VERY happy to report we now have 13  yes 13 Aero Chocolate mousses in the fridge :)

I am so in 7th Heaven. :couchpotato:

That's all, nothing to see please move along :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
