@karen8967 .....forgot to mention the pre holiday wash in my last post.....the one I have to do to freshen up the holiday clothes that have been lurking in the drawer since last years trip that somehow have lost their just washed smell ....more of a quick rinse and freshen up but still necessary to prevent that stale aroma.....
....currently chilling on a beach lounger at 34 degrees....:)....off shortly to investigate lunch....(we are 2 hours behind UK time)....

Can you do this???
Example if I check at 11am and it's 10.5 and slowly going up, I take 2u and I know that'll bring in range
THEN i decide to check again in say 30 mins 13, at this point can I shoot n extra unit or 2? because technically the 11am does has not fully started working yet?

I wouldn't do what you suggest here, but sometimes I'll stack, if I do a first correction, and I look again half and hour later, and my blood sugar has carried on rising, but at a faster rate than I expected, and I realise that the amount of insulin I had assumed would be enough wouldn't be. Then I'll do another 1 unit, but not another two units.

You have to be a bit careful, but there are sometimes good reasons for doing it.

Morning everyone,

@SueJB raises an interesting question about staying motivated, once we're in maintenance mood, rather than target chasing. Though that is a very good HbA1c, and one to be proud of.

Overnight wasn't great, but it wasn't the end of the world either, just some sort of middling slightly too high blood sugar. I corrected about 7 am, but then had to post-bolus my breakfast, as I had reached the high 3s. Which might allow me to have a hypo free walk later, which would be nice.

But then again, it might not!
@Alison54321 I think you've hit the nail on the head about staying motivated but it still all comes down to numbing number crunching. In the end, that's what virtually the whole site comes down to

Wow @karen8967 and Molly56! How often do you gals go on holiday?
I don't have enough wardrobe space to justify clothes just for my two weeks a year so most of my holiday clothes are genuinely "just washed". My biggest problem is knowing what to wear the last week before I go that I might* not be taking with me.
I have a big downer on driers so everything dries au naturelle.

Sounds as if your houses are constantly full of drying washing in preparation for or after your hols (apart from when you are actually on holiday).

*Might be less of a problem if a I decided what to take a little earlier but, you know what it's like: you don't know how much space there is in the case until you've started packing, you don't know what the weather is going to be like (do you need to pack 1, 2 or no jumpers), you may just see a fantastic t-shirt/skirt/trousers (I struggle with wearing dresses because I can't get to my pump in polite company) a couple of days before you go which will change your packing plan, you may read about a posh restaurant/exciting outward bound course/mountain hike/... that requires special clothing the day before you go, it may be colder/hotter at home on the day you leave, ...
Haha i have 2 spare rooms one for the grandsons when they stay and the other is full of chest of drawers so one is for holiday stuff i have. chest of drawere i mean not the room

There is only me and tommy at home now so apart from a couple of holiday washes i really dont wash that often just the norm ...and i dont mean myself i mean the clothes

I have recently discovered the joys of Pink Gin, my new favourite tipple. What I was noticing however was if I had a double G&T, my morning BG was running high. I discovered to my horror that Gordons Pink Gin was 20 grammes of carbs for a double G&T.

I had also bought a bottle of Aldi Premium Pink Gin, but this was not raising my BG. mmmmmmm

A quick check reveals that Aldi Pink Gin has no carbs Whoooo Hoo. Happy days:woot::woot:

Re holiday washing. Tend to holiday in this country as husband doesn’t like the sun. Wear all the same clothes as normal-Rohan/Craghoppers as I’m a walking type. Hire houses with washing machines and wash most stuff before I return home. Have everything unpacked and put away within an hour of getting home. Am a bit OCD in that respect.
Am away at the moment. Not much walking done due to Ali! but lots of reading and wine drunk.

But surely you can waste ... I mean spend the day telling everyone about your hols and avoid doing any work for a little bit longer.
Or explain you have so many emails to deal with you need at least a week to catch up/ease yourself back into the grind.
Or at least catch up on the office gossip.
I work in a care home so no easing back in it none stop from start to finish

Morning :)
Woke up in the teens- due to a very lastmin late take out with the hubby. Totally guesstimated the carbs. Slept through the spike alarms correction dose given.

Nearly Friday

Good morning y'all :) 10.2 waking, it was up at 12 in the early hours so I had a unit, dropped quickly once I had my pre breakfast jab, I should have had an extra u last night as the little un as I had white basmati rice with tea as she doesn't like the brown type, but anyway :)

The wind's dropped here so a productive day coming up.
