You put them on the polar express, of course.
Looking at an earlier post of yours kitedoc, you need a backpack with a panel of photovoltaic cells?
There’s a YouTube showing how to make one but I daren’t put it up here as it has overtones of ‘Don’t do this at home’.
There are quite thin commercial solar panels which fold up, like a paper map. They are close to large pocket size when folded. With the wisdom of years (with residual insanity usually under control) I figure that I am unlikely to to really need the solar cells - although I have a car trip planned in Tasmania next year (for kite flying, is there any other possible reason?) and could theoretically need solar cells in the nth degree of disaster planning. Perhaps one could rig up a solar panel on a kite, wind willing!!

Thank you and yes we all have a passion for something.
I've tried other log based things but nothing is as popular as the reindeer.
I'm a caretaker in a primary school and I get called "the reindeer man" this time of year and I love it.

I too love seeing what others make can you post some of your jewellery?

Thanks again

Tony

Here’s my website gallery :) https://seirian.me/gallery/[/QUOTE]
Amazing gallery!! I have visions of you at a forge hammering out the silver (and the occasional sword, mace, halberd and other armour). Why do not the children call you the 'reindeer lady' ?

I was a bit more vocal here last week when I wasn't at work and not doing my usual amount of walking. This week, order has been restored (more or less) on Planet Japes after some disruption to my usual routines. Nearly done all the laundry and moving back of furniture.

Also, order has been more or less restored on the blood sugars front. As much as they can be, you all understand! Three weeks of eating what someone else has cooked, lovely as that was, along with a few more treats than I've been allowing myself, as well a lot less walking had created mayhem. This has confirmed I've found a food and exercise routine which works for me, for now, and I'm happy sticking to that. Until it all changes again.
Routine is routinely important !! Keeping it interesting at the same thing is the challenge!!

And................while we're on the subject of talents, @kitedoc has never shown us a photo of one of his kites, other than the picture in his profile, we've seen no kite photos.

Go on Kitedoc, you know you want to.
Once this Luddite sorts out the URL thingy I shall do.

Where is everybody???
Not literally, just wondered why it appears so quiet on the thread at the moment.

Just been out for our fortnightly meal out with the relatives. Pre bolused on leaving home, always fun just shooting in a random amount of bolus:). Got to the pub/ restaurant and decided to top up on the bolus again once I’d decided what I was having. ( chicken and bacon pie, chips and peas ). Seems I just about got it right. A nice drop to 4.5 about half hour after eating and now a steady rise upto the 7 mark. If it levels off and stays there I’ll be happy.

Not had time to read all today’s posts, but pastimes and hobbies seem to be popular. Some extremely talented people lurking around this forum:):):)

Have to admit to not being very good at small, delicate or intricate. Pick axe, shovel and sledge hammers is my forte. Holes are usually my creations.....AND .....no, I’m not posting any images:):):).
Hi @the
We can, he and our other boy cat Fidel love having their tummies stroked. They gently murder your arm while you’re doing it, it’s all a lovely game. They’re like big floppy kittens. Our newest addition, a little girl cat who looks like Hitler, isn’t quite so easy going, but she’s mellowed an awful lot in the six months she’s been living with us.
I assume you do not go near the new cat's H-like whiskers!!

Hi @therower, And no, a hole in a boat would not make a good image. But what about oars, woodwork (even with holes in it ??

Not so much a forge, but a purple shed ;)

Morning y'all, nearly the weekend :)
Waking to a 7.9 that's risen to 8.3 after my breakfast insulin and is just starting to drop 45 mins after injecting, my porridge has been soaking all night and just wants to be eaten but patience will win out :p

My lunchtime Tresiba has been upped a unit to 17u, day 3 of that and I have to say I'm surprised at the improvement in my blood sugars, the sleeping hypos from the other week were nasty but (touches wood) they've gone :)

Edit, and I've just cracked a double yolk egg in to my poaching dish :)

Perhaps, like most great discoveries, you've accidentally discovered that lunch time is the perfect time to inject Tresiba.

Morning guys, I awoke on double figures. Yesterday late afternoon I made a curry, I had a hupo, corrected it and had a nice relaxing bath, started to feel unwell so checked again, now 2.4 ate more food. When daughter came home I dished up curry, but still didn't feel well, I only had a couple of mouthfuls of curry, just couldn't eat anymore, so I had a banana, a yogurt drink and some fruit, and lay down on the sofa, but my legs wouldn't stop with the RLS and it was , so I had to keep walking about, shaking my leg too and took another tablet, it finally stopped at 9pm, I was cream crackerd and feeling a little worse for wear this morning, BS last night was 14.2, took a correction dose and now 12.2, so need to get that down. I have to be out late morning, so hoping BS will settle down
Take care x

Good morning all
Woke to a 4.0 this morning.....breakfast with 1 less unit of Fiasp and am now on a 8 with a flat line, ok with the day so far
Talents! Well I used to fly r/c helicopters to a fairly high standard if that counts, only other thing is I am a very keen photographer. Looking at some of the things being made on this thread is mind boggling and only wish I was half as talented :)

Morning all :)

Hope your BG levels play nicely today @Robinredbreast I find with events like this that they are quite exhausting, so hope you have a better day.

Pump change this morning and sat at 6.5 after having an overnight of 10+ mmol/l.

School reunion tomorrow night, yikes !!!! :wideyed:

Thank you. just going to check BS now.
6.5 is a good reading and I hope you will have a lovely catch up reunion tomorrow night and a drink or two ;)

Thanks @Robinredbreast Am not a huge fan of reunions, but a few good pals are going so looking forward to seeing them as we still stay in touch, last reunion I went to I didn't recognise a few who I knew well at school, it was amazing to see how people had changed though in 30 years !!

I had a school reunion around 5 years ago...The main question people who remembered me was "Are you still diabetic??". I think my facial expression convinced them that I was, indeed, still diabetic lol
