Type 2 considering asking to go on insulin

    I have that Wikipedia page on my pad.
    It is talking about having high carb meals, that is not correct. Anything above an individual's personal threshold for carb intolerance would cause symptoms and have effects that are not good for a reactive hypoglycaemic patients.

    It also says that I'm not diabetic. But what is diabetic, it is a label to describe a bunch of people with endocrine conditions.
    I have an endocrine disorder, they are very similar to diabetic symptoms, in fact the mental health problems can sometimes be worse.
    But that's a moot point.
    The main point is, with your recommendations, many people with endocrine problems or metabolic syndromes or diabetics would be very ill or dead!

    I would rather live really well and ignore your advice.
    And I would rather do without carbs to be that way, no matter the advice.

    I am sorry that you do not understand what I have writ to your friend NOSHER.

    He has NOT Diabetes. He has a disease with the name: "Reactive Hypoglycemia". It is not DIABETES. There are people who do not tolerate GLUTEN. they are not DIABETIC. Understand that, it is not difficult.

    READ please the copy from English wikipedia.

    I have newer write what you postulate: " Marx, how can you say high BS AFTER eating is not diabetes?"

    You advocate for the Low.carb doctrine , developed from people who have a commercial benefits and without scientifically purpose.

    Once again my friend you are mistaken.
    I do not have a disease, it has no cure, the only treatment is diet and a very low carb one at that!
    RH is very asymptomatic with T2 diabetes.
    Both T2 and RH ers see a specialist endocrinologist.
    They can be treated with the same diet.
    One has a glucose disorder.
    I have an insulin imbalance.
    Diabetes is not a disease! You catch a disease, you can't catch diabetes.

    The commercial benefits are only found on the horrific attitude pertaining to the similar advice you and the health service industry is advocating.
    The food companies are culpable in its ignorance of the true cause of obesity epidemic in the world.

    I do not give advises, that do the doctors , but I am talking about my experience with T2DM. On the beginning I have done the same. On this time I have been blue-eyed, but today I am brown eyed.
    You are not diabetic and I will give to you advice to find people with your own disease and not to disturb discussions for T2DM.

    What you demonstrate is true. If you do not eat carbohydrate you get this numbers. But you are blind about the consequences of low-carb diet. It is op to you.

    You have your experience I have my. I accept your point of view but the problem is You do not tolerate another people who do not agree with you. You have a communications problem.

    Explain if you can what are the physiological consequences of low-carb nutrition!

    To calculate GL do not need Math. degree
    GL = (GI of the nutrient X amount of gram by the nutrient) / 100
    Exsample: Aple GI is 40, with 15 gram GL = (40 x 15 ) / 100 = 6

    Diabetes T2DM has many levels.
    You are on the begining. Some day you must get medications becouse the DM is a progresiv disease and it is a "Silent Killer"

    I am talking general about T2DM and not specifically for onset diabetes.
    You can do that for a very short time, but if you think you can manage that all the time until your death, you are wrong. On the beginning you do not need medications. But the DM say to you:
    "Go forward , I can catch you, unimportant how far a way from me you are."

    As I said, a maths degree. To do this with every single item of food on the plate at every meal time requires time I don't have.

    I note from your profile you are on insulin. How long have you been diagnosed, how long have you been on insulin, what is your HbA1c? How many units of insulin do you typically need? What exactly do you eat?

    Think you are insulting my experiences and my condition.
    I did get diagnosed t2, but all the doctors were wrong and the advice about carbs is wrong! I have a lot of T2 knowledge , my wife has T2 and she cut out all complex carbs and she has reached normal numbers!
    You talk physiological damage!
    Well I am in perfect health!
    If I had been still taking my doctors advice that includes low GI complex carbs, I would be dead!
    The physiological damage was due to the carbs, the carbs was making making my wife I'll! Funny how it all turned around when we both started low carb! I was going mad because of carbs now I'm rational.
    Though you have your views, if you are t2 and on insulin, maybe you need to have a look at your carb intake! It can only make you healthier!

    I am not agitating for low-carb nutrition. Kristi and company das that. I know this site is for using insulin by T2DM. I have my opinion about the low-carb and you and another has threes. We exchange opinions and not more. You can eat what you wish and I will steadily have my opinion about the low-carb PANDEMI!

    Low-carb conception is from the commercial advertising from the companies who explain the people how to slim down. It is not for diabetics. But if you like that, then go ON. It is my opinion and I will kip it, without to think on what is yours opinion about me.

At least if you get these tests done you will know whether or not you have a choice about it. If you still produce sufficient insulin then yes you may choose to go on insulin to help out.     Nosher has RH. meaning when he eats carbs he over produces insulin and gets low BS. I don't produce any insulin and when I eat carbs I get high BS. BOTH are BS disregulation. BOTH are not as a normal person. So we call them both diabetes. To quote you, understand that, it is not difficult.

    I wish you no ill but again your misconceptions about low carb is just wrong!
    It is a lifestyle change that actually works!
    It is not only for those who need to slim down, you can put on weight with low carb.
    The key to low carbing is control of blood glucose levels.
    If you can't tolerate carbs, which will send your levels high and remain there, it defeats the object of control, you really shouldn't have fluctuating blood glucose levels.
    With low carb you don't get fluctuations. With low carbing you get control.
    No control, you get diabetic complications.

    It is as simple and straightforward as that.

    Yes we will always get the reminder spike! hope it has settled down and happy birthday.

    I too notice pickled foods do help me to be more insulin sensative. If I am just a little high or want a little more food I will add a good blob of mustard to something. It's the vinegar. Some say they don't notice vinegar helps but I sure do. I will even had a spoonful with my basal if I am too high but still too low for extra and it put me right where I want to be in the morning.

    I always used vinegar on food, it is good for blood, I have never heard otherwise.
    I know going back to my childhood, that it's an old wives tale or an urban myth that it is very good for your blood.

    I'm another vinegar fan. I spice my egg mayo up with a large pickled onion sliced up and shredded, and also my tinned salmon. I do like my (steeped) mushy peas and find a bit of vinegar holds down any spike.

    My mum used to say it thins the blood, so probably helps it flow better.
