Type 2 Life

The worst that can happen @liam1955 is that you get a row from your dn and your meds adjusted. You'll just have to do without the puddings :). Audrey has made a comeback as almost everyone seems to prefer non portrait avatars and I really love Holly Golightly

@13lizanne - Do I call you Anna or Audrey? Did you have a great time with your Son today? And did you get to go on the walk? And take any photos of the wildlife?
When last at Hospital Diabetic Clinic in November'15 - I asked the Consultant if I could have Insulin that I could inject before I ate. Because I really do not feel like eating till around 11am, but NO was told to continue using the Insulin that I'm on.
And it does work, because when I 'ocassionally' (not often) forget to inject - there is a big difference throughout the day on my blood sugars. I just want my HBA1C to be lower than 64 and not gone higher???? But, I am not going to lose any sleep over it. I'm at the Hospital a week on Thursday to discuss about these Biological Injections, I'm in agony during the night with the Arthritis in my spine, I never get a good nights sleep. :)

@liam1955, when will you get your results back?
I've had a day of too-high readings for no obvious reason, which is really annoying. I wouldn't mind if I could work out what has raised them, but I have been so careful over the last few days. it makes me think I should just think "sod it" and scoff a bag of crisps! But I won't, and I just have to hope the readings are better tomorrow.

@liam1955 we had a lovely time thank you William. D wanted to go for a drive today he "tells" us he doesn't want to walk by making a noise and refusing to get out of the car :) I'm so sorry to know that you don't get a pain free sleep, all the years we had broken sleep I remember not being able to think straight and feeling so exhausted. You have pain as well to contend with- I feel for you. Hope you @eddie1968 @Alzebra all get a proper sleep tonight

@TooManyCrisps - Hi. I will get my results next week. Oh dear - are you comming down with some ailment? Or is it just a "blip"? I've had Diabetes 16 years in April and there are still times I am baffled with it.!! And don't always have the answer!
And I am not going to get stressed about, as there is always a 'tomorrow'! And if all my results are all well under 10 everyday, then I am content. But, you still keep a food and b.s. result diary? :)

@13lizanne - Anna I'm a tough cookie really and as you know I've got good Scottish Blood in my veins from my Mum, Dad and Grandparents, oh and Irish blood from my great Grandparents = so I'm a "hybrid"!!! :D I'm pleased you had a lovely day Anna with D, what you doing tomorrow? Thanks for all the hugs everybody and I hope you are all in good health. :) Spring is not far away = Yippee!!

Hi William,

Hope everything goes as it should and you get good results.
You sound like a mongrel like me: English grandfather, Scottish grandfather, Irish grandmother, Welsh grandmother. Both my parents were Welsh born and so was I.
Take care.

@doolallylady - Bless You Karen, actually my Dad was born in Cardiff - but moved to Scotland when he was 2 years old. So there's a tiny wee bit of Welsh as well.:)

@liam1955

Definitely a mongrel, with a bit of corgi mix, lol. No matter how wee, you'll always have that bit of Cymru in you.
We live approx. 10 miles from Cardiff and our son is a police officer there.

@eddie1968 I hope you're feeling better soon and can get a belated slice of birthday cake. Thanks to everyone for the virtual hugs and support, I'm feeling stronger today :) I saw a cardiologist a couple of weeks ago about my blood pressure and had just done a 24hr monitoring thing, I've also reduced my BP tablets again, they were all increased last year when my BP shot up. Just got to find the sweet spot I guess, just like all of you insulin jugglers!!!
Thanks. I am still feeling very ill. I am sleeping a lot. Slept from 8pm to 8am then drifted back to sleep as I was still so sleepy and went back to sleep until 4pm. That's 20 hours kip and was starting to get groggy again by 10pm after 6 hours awake. It's been like this daily for a while, most of my life snoozing. There is obviously something wrong, that's existing and not living. I still have to be patient. I want to go back to bed so badly and I only want my normal routine back. Good night.

@muzza3 what were your HbA1c results, were you pleased with them?
@liam1955 are you nervous about your results? You did well to stay at the same weight and not put any on
Thanks @13lizanne
Yes just got back from the quacks. It was all very good. HbA1c 10.8 to 5.9. I'm not great on the detail so I will scan it later today and post to get some feedback. Suffice to say that the smile on the Doc's face combined with frequent head-shaking was most enjoyable

Morning folks! @liam1955 your family tree sounds similar to mine, grandfather from Glasgow and grandmother from London on my mum's side but god knows where my dad's family are from cos he was adopted! He thought his birth mother was Geordie but we have no way of checking because his records were lost during the war

Hi @liam. I don't think I'm coming down with anything, I had a mild cold a couple of weeks ago, but am over that. However my readings went up whilst I had a cold and seem to have got stuck there!

I do test before and after meals and record all results and all food and drink, but I'm finding it very hard to spot a pattern. So far the only real conclusions I've come to are that portion size affects meals more than actual content, and that berries are fine in the evening but push my sugars up massively if I have them for breakfast. I've not eaten bread, potatoes, rice or pasta since diagnosis so dont know how those would affect me and I'm not brave enough to experiment yet! Although I did have a Lidl protein roll for lunch last week and that was ok.
