Type 2 Life

Have I given non-sensible advice/support @Hiitsme? Perhaps not being type 1 I've given wrong support? If so , apologies to @bigjohn9916

I don't think you gave any wrong advice. It was the below 5 that I've heard in other places for those on insulin, I think it was driving that some say they must be above 5. I don't know but I do know hypos are dangerous so would not want to advise anyone to takes chances. I do know there are a number of type 2's on insulin on this forum and thought some of them would be able to give much better advice than me.

5.7 this morning and very happy with that. Having had my bloods taken yesterday we went out for a meal and I had risotto. 53 before meal and 6.3 after 2 hours so I was happy with that and still OK this morning.
@4ratbags thanks I still stress a lot with these blood tests but having had the test I feel less pressure. Can't change the result so thought it was worth trying something different. Won't be doing it all the time but it's great to be able to try a few slightly higher carb foods to see what happens. I don't need to lose any more weight as BMI is now under 20 so quite happy to very carefully test carbs at times.

@Hiitsme thats a great result after risotto. I firmly believe that its how you eat most of the time that matters and every now and then our bodies can tolerate a higher amount of carbs. Please post the results of your blood test when they come in.

Thanks for encouragement. I will post the results when I get them.

Hi @13lizanne I don't think you've given wrong support. my consultant is wonderful surgeon but she doesn't seem to understand when I tell her I don't start to hypo until 3.2 on my meter so if hypo's are supposed to start at 4.0 then my meter is reading 0,8 under therefore my actual BG is averaging around 5.5

Well Done to @TooManyCrisps on your fbs 6.8 - bet your a 'Happy Bunny':D.
I woke up briefly at 6am and threw the duvet off because I was a bit hot and bothered, - I wonder? If my Liver was dumping on me? For my fbs to be 7.3 at 8.30am. I'd not eaten anything since 7.30pm yesterday evening.
In today's post received letters from the Hospital, my blood test that I had done 5 days ago showed "Abnormal LFT" and they have sent me another blood form to have it done before my appointment this comming Thursday. And I have also received an appointment (at last) to see the Liver Specialist in June.

Some great results coming back on HbA1c at the moment, really pleased for everyone! I went back to work with my comedy ear bandage this week, I teach teenagers so they've enjoyed laughing at my misfortune ;) Feeling really tired and my blood pressure is creeping up again because I've had to stop taking one of my BP meds to avoid any more fainting episodes...

Hi all,
Hope it's a good day all round and that the poorly ones are feeling much better.

@liam1955. William, nice result this morning, will keep fingers crossed that they find something else instead of the injections.
@KimG well done on the bg, ouch on the BP, hope it improves quickly.

We had some good news yesterday, daughter's MRI scan results came back with no abnormalities showing. It'll be up to the Opthalmologist now to find out what is causing the RAPD as the Neurologist has said it is nothing to do with the IIH. More tests I expect but at least anything really nasty in the brain has been ruled out and she now has proof that she does, in fact, possess one!!
Thank you Liam. The rise in BP was quite a shock, I'm sure it's going to be sorted out. I'm glad your daughter's results aren't nasty. I'm sure they'll get get to the bottom of RAPD :)

Hello @Alzebra teaching is a hard enough job without accidents and reducing blood pressure tablets. I'm not surprised you are tired . Take care this weekend and try to have a rest. @liam1955 I'm sorry to ask but what is LFT?

Feeling rather cold today even though the temperature at home is 20 degrees. I hope I'm not coming down with something . Also, I've noticed that my bruises are taking quite a while to disappear (I get these as I'm a bit clumsy:D). My bloods are fine. My legs are quite weak too, I've read that diabetes can be responsible for weakness in the lower extremities. That's not good for me as I've lost quite a lot of muscle due to broken knees and legs . However, I'll be having another go in the garden today. There is so much rubbish to get rid of, twigs, branches and leaves etc. It's looking a bit tidier. Ironing to do later. Lamb hotpot tonight :hungry:. I shall have that with steamfresh Italian veg (these bags are a treat for me) followed by sugerfree jelly and berries :p.

@mo53 - Thanks Mo. Your fbs was better today than yesterday's I see. :)
Are you gardening today? Don't be doing too much too soon after your recent bout of illness, take things easy for a few days, until you feel 100% well. :)

@liam1955 I didn't feel like swimming so thought I might garden but I've just been outside and it is bitterly cold so I'm not sure what I'm doing.

@Alzebra - Hi, from a fellow blood pressure sufferer. Get up slowly from sitting down, don't move too quickly - basically do everything a little slower. Blood Pressure rises and falls throughout the day. But, you probably know all this!:)

@bigjohn9916 Good. I do feel in that respect I'm similar to you - I feel fine at 3.4 the only time that I had a mild hypo recently was at 3.1 We do know our own bodies best, and we're not a "one size fits all" when it comes to managing our diabetes. Glad you are OK with my post :)
