I've been out for a lovely walk with my husband. We went to somewhere we've been meaning to go for years - Holme Fen. It's the lowest point in Britain as it's 9 ft below sea level, the powers that be drained the mere in the 1850s to create the fen, and the land shrank as the peat dried out. There's a post that shows how high the land used to be, which makes you realise how far its dropped. It's also in the largest silver birch forest in England.
It was a beautiful afternoon, and we really relaxed.
What has everyone else been up to?
