The Lidls rolls are approx 11g carbs each and 1 slice of ordinary wholemeal/brown/white bread is anything from 17-24g carbs that's per slice so @mo53 s bread is very low carb
@liam1955 yes I thought 10g was too much. My partner drives too. I think I will wait until we can go to Lidl and I will stock up by freezing some of the rolls. I must ask , have you got strong winds and showers of hailstones in York. It's really cold here now.
Good day so far.....went to an excercise class labelled "Easy Does it" which was anything but! and I I realised that I simply do not have the co-ordination to be remotely graceful!
I then had a lovely 30 minute clear the mind swim and followed that up with a pot of mint tea and a my book for 20 minutes.
I was just about to get on with some work when one of my oldest friends turned up at the front door bearing giftsShe has bought me a lovely velvet bag about the size of a laptop sleve which holds all my testing kit, spare supplies, note book and pens etc. She has also bought me some guest towells in a lovely vibrant pink which also fit into this bag and some handcream for my pin pricked fingers. It is lovely and is making me smile this afternoon as I test.....which is a good thing.
She said that she can no longer buy me chocolate and I kill flowers
My husband is away for the next two nights and as much as I love him I am really looking forward to snuggling down on the sofa with the dogs and some really appauling TV of the guilty secret variety for the next two evenings
Yes, I believe so. They are very high fibre and full of seeds. Many people only eat half a roll at a time. When I started lchf I was broken hearted to find my favourite Irish bread and Scottish Plain white were both 24grams of carbohydrates a slice so a bacon sandwich was more than my entire days allowance of carbohydrates. Even a slice of wholemeal from a normal 800g loaf e.g Warburtons is at least 17g
The Lidl rolls are great because they're so filling you only need half. So I make them up with chicken etc then cut them in half and eat them for lunch over 2 days. We don't have a Lidl in Cambridge though so I can't get hold of them that often. The Lidls rolls are approx 11g carbs each and 1 slice of ordinary wholemeal/brown/white bread is anything from 17-24g carbs that's per slice so @mo53 s bread is very low carb
@liam1955 ooh the homemade cheeseburgers sound good. I'm not sure about the bread. It tastes good even though wheat and gluten free. But 10 g of carb in each slice. It didn't spike my bs . I would like to try the livlife bread but I will have to order it from Amazon. I wish I could get to Lidl more often. The trouble with swimming it makes me sleepy.
YepAre they still nice after freezing them?
Love bok choi. Very disappointed in choi sum, though - fibrous and tastes of nothing at all....Ain't fibre great
Edit: Bok Choi should come with a warning...
Happy birthday!Hi Guys
Birthday today so having a day off diet wise and testing wise. Had a piece of strawberry cheesecake this afternoon at the office my first sweet for over three months and it was very good. Roast Lamb tonight with a couple of roast potatoes and dessert of Apple-crumble and custard

Darn... wish I'd known that. Now I'm gonna have to wait another year!Happy birthday. I think you're allowed a treat on your birthday, it's only once a year
Hi, @maureen5752. Funnily enough, it was after 3 months of steroids that I got my T2 diagnosis...Hi hope everyone's ok. Still have to rejoin every time. Phoned diabetesuk. Said they'd contact me to try sort it out but heard nothink. Can't keep rejoining every time, anyway sugars are finally bit lower, seems I had reaction to steroids. I'll keep trying to sort this problem out but getting tired of rejoining every time. Don't know what's going on. Keep posting, I can read but can't jion in!
