@maureen5752 if you can prove you have nerve damage because of diabetes youshould have a case for needing strips, surely. Change drs if your dr not understanding to your health efforts. It sounds common sense for you to still monitor with nerve damage. Have you a nerve damage specialist who can help your cause? Failing that appeal to your local pct board. Your worth it!Thanks I will, doctor suggested coming of gliclazide just before op, I didn't want to mess with my body so near to op and diabetic nurse agreed, but was told to cut down, come off after op, I asked about strips and was told when I stop gliclazide I won't get any more strips and will have to return machine, I got nerve damage cos I was told don't need to test and sugars went sky high, can't win but I will look around but as you know strips arnt cheap and it's a life thing. Have good day & like your bgs this morning. I was 6.9
@johnnybaker45 in such pizza parties pull the cheesy topping off and enjoy! Only the base that causes us a big problem. Tomato sauce can have sugar in but delve into your cheese and toppings without guilt.A very good Sunday afternoon to all fellow sufferers of Type II Diabetes Mellitus,
I am posting to inform yourselves that although I remembered to administer my Lixisenatide Glucagon-like Peptide injection and also all my oral medications each for my Essential Hypertension, Urinary Retention, ADHD and Asperger Syndrome, I am writing with much regret to admit relapsing on my committment to abstain from consuming complex carbohydrates by consuming a rather exorbitant portion of cheese pizza that my good friend whom is a mental health service user shared with me and my other mental health service user friend had some too although he's not diabetic. I feel thoroughly mortified that I didn't maintain the 'stickability' to persevere with the carb-free promise I had made and am full of self-reproach and self-hatred but I'm not going to let it get me down, I'm going to continue with even more zeal than initially as it's made me more determined and more forthright, the one mistake I made. As my late, dear mother said to me once long ago: 'if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again'.
My Blood Glucose Reading at 2:03 pm today was 7.1 Millimoles Per Litre.
Have a wonderful day, my friends and mutual diabetic companions.
@jonnybaker45, it's really hard when your friends want you to share a meal which is high carb.it happened to me a few weeks ago, and i ended up eating pizza for lunch as there wasn't another option (it was in someones house and they had made the pizza from scratch). I ended up with a reading of 15 after 2 hours!A very good Sunday afternoon to all fellow sufferers of Type II Diabetes Mellitus,

Interesting. I have no idea why that should be but I also had 7.8 this morning. I didn't retest though as I just put it down to Liver Dump. Sadly, 7.8 isn't out of the ordinary fit me.Interesting results this morning!
I tested at 6am with a 7.8! Which was a bit of a what! So re-tested straight away And got a 6.8, then a 7.2, 7.3 And a 7.0 all in the space of 5 minutes? Anyone got a Scooby-Doo as to what is occuring?
Meter checked And control solution applied all ok
Arrrrgh!
