Type 2 Life

Very tired. BMs were pretty low at tea time, 3.3 mmol/l. After my chippy and some pears and ice cream they are at 6.4 mmol/l. :)

This avatar will not be staying for long, I tried to put it on my profile page but couldn't. This was the only way to do it, sorry.

My sister and me (blonde) taken when I was in my mid-20's.
The reason it is 'odd' around the edges is because it was a key-ring photo that had really started to shrivel around the edges. My kids wanted to save it so they removed it from key-ring and saved it on my pc.

Just to add, I look nothing like this now.
Gosh you aint half dishy when you were younger. ;)

Getting tired. Off to bed soon.

Goodnight my thread friends, sorry no likes and individuals replies. As I put elsewhere App is Appain in the donkey at the mo

Thank you William, as I said to Eddie, it was a long time ago and I cleaned up well at times. I have always hated having my photo taken and still do. The kids nag for me to have some taken but I'm good at dodging or hiding behind a cushion, doing anything to avoid them.
As for hubby, I keep telling him that, he just doesn't believe me :hilarious:. Karen xx

spent the afternoon in the garden, uncovered the strawberry beds (we've been having a very late cold snap) a bit of sunshine a bit of cleaning up a nice breeze to blow away the cobwebs... and a pav for lunch made with a handful of the last of last year's frozen berries and it didn't spike my numbers....
makes me happy

Good Morning, my good, supportive friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

I am very happy today because I was the recipient of my diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder yesterday at the Lambeth Autism Service, a subsidiary of the Bethlem Royal Hospital in Beckenham in Kent based upon the close studies of the ATEC questionairres that my friend and care coordinator helped me complete and the telephone conversation with the psychologist from that concern and assessment by community nurse specialist at that concern. The psychiatrist who made the diagnosis, the great Dr Susannah Whitwell, said all other diagnoses that I have received over the years, personality disorder, severe behaviour disorder, psychotic disorder, mood disorder can be revoked and regarded as null and void. She is happy to refer me to an Autism Support Group where I can engage with people like myself as well as a referral to the Specialist Genetics Unit at a psychiatric hospital in South London where I can have intensive one to one psychological treatment to help identify and nullify my extreme passivity and naievity and susceptibility to being abused financially.

My blood glucose reading today at 6:04 am in the morning after I drank a cup of coffee with sweeteners and had a few roll-ups was 7.5 Millimoles Per Litre. I am sure it will come down to a good, optimum reading, however, because I administered my morning dose of metformin at 6:01 am this morning successfully.

And the incidence last Thursday was a grave autistic meltdown not a schizophrenic experience as I'd misconceptualised. The autistic specialist psychiatrist Dr Whitwell told me that.

Have a lovely day my lovely and understanding, non-judgemental friends.

Up at 6.8 FBG this morning Could tell it would be high when I woke up (parched/sweaty) - getting back on My Fitness Pal today I've decided. Best way to keep control - quite a few Annas cappuccino thins crept in yesterday. Thoughtful of my partner's daughter to buy them for me as they are low carb - but too moreish! Hopefully LCHF today will clear body out.

It's a very wet London, hoping the weather improves before first 2016 camping trip on Friday with our new tent.

Have a good Tuesday

Hi Johnny, I am so pleased you've finally got the precise diagnosis and support that you so needed. We as always will continue to be hear, providing a listening ear and all the encouragement we can offer.

Sounds like. You have a good supportive team there Johnny and I am glad you have got your diagnosis and can now move on with the correct appropriate drugs and treatments.

PenfoldAPD you will get back to your optimum levels again but good to know that you can go off piste and get back again......so what plans do you have for food whilst you are camping?.....Fry Ups, BBQ'd meats?

6.6 this morning which is now 14 days since I have seen any readings in the 7's......long may it continue!

Off to Hospital Appointment with the Husband this morning, he has a high PSA reading but nothing obvious after the normal test (you all know the one!) so off to have discussions about an MRI and biopsy this morning.....Joy of joys!

Have a good day all x

That's so great @johnnybaker45 what a long time it's taken to receive the correct diagnosis. Now you will be able to receive the support and help you require. My son, who is non-verbal, is Autistic and receives wonderful support and services from Autism Scotland, I think that you will really enjoy the Support Group and, as @KevinPotts and @Lindy1706 have said, we like hearing about your progress and are very pleased for you.

Good readings @Lindy1706 well done! For camping my brother is bringing a chilli for Friday night - had to give strict instructions about ingredients, and no kidney beans for me. Then hopefully some good meat for a BBQ - or dinner at The Scott Arms which overlooks Corfe Castle. Ocado are delivering good food on Thursday before we go, it's more like glamping I guess - but so excited about our new enormous Outwell tent.

Hope your husbands appointment goes ok, I seem to be forever at the Docs now! But all good care so I'm not complaining ... :)
