Type 2 Life

Didn't see it but I think the healthy plate thing (if it was mentioned) probably is fine for Jo Public and had I eaten within those lines I wouldn't have become overweight and at risk of diabetes because of it. It's a maintenance for a healthy person, not a cure for diabetes.

@ickihun (was it) who said about not losing weight on LCHF ? I recall posting on threads and saying similar to be greeted by the response of what do you expect eating all that fat (cheese & butter) with the carbs YOU eat (a person who's posts I have now blocked (ignored). I was eating to my meter with the carbs so bs fine BUT another, rather more kindly poster explained that eating to my meter was WAY too HIGH carbs for me to lose weight. They have to be ULTRA LOW. So I'm back to cutting back on the butter.

Hi Johnny, that was an excellent blood glucose reading this morning and well done on the sweetners in your coffee too. I hope that you have a really good day

Thank you Vicky. Its nice to know that there are people who care. Xxx

At 11:17 ante meridian this morning, Monday 23rd May 2016 my blood glucose level was 5.8 Millimoles Per Litre and I still haven't eaten and drank approximately 5-6 glasses of tap water and smoked approximately 4-5 Sterling Rolling Tobacco hand-rolled cigarettes.

@Sable_Jan I think you have hit the nail on the head.
Like myself as an example.
Eating those carbs got me addicted to more carbs. The thinking was fat was the enerny when its carbs.
High carb low fat diet cannot be changed over night. Well not for me anyway.
Im having to slowly make changes.
I only just said yesterday im thinking of putting ratios on my fridge. My ratios are all out. I replaced carbs with protein. Hence added weight. Lost weight due to a new diabetic tablet which starting adding my weight too due to blockage and immobility.
So.... here I am reducing my protein and keeping/increasing fat.'
Oh and ive lost nearly 2lb this week on top of 4 and a half pound in last 3 wks = over 6lb loss.

I'm not surprised with what's going on. I'm exactly the same when there's a worry in the house.
I had to make a huge effort when I was ill.
Today ive had protein breakfast so veg dinner later but keep forgetting inj BEFORE meal not after. I'm thinking of you. When youre quiet iknow something wrong. ♡♥♡

Do we have to study all the scientific reports before w choose a diet?? I have studied many of the reports cited by Diabetes UK & found they do NOT support the conclusions.
I was diagnosed type 2 in 2000; given the complex carb, low sugar, low fat diet, and assured that however well I complied with their advice, diabetes would progress. I would need ever-increasing medication & suffer from a selection of - failing sight; heart disease; stroke; amputation; kidney failure - but not to feel I had failed - it's the nature of the disease.
After 8 years of care compliance, I was suffering from a range of conditions, particularly peripheral neuropathy which was crippling. I learned from the www.diabetes.co.uk/forum that many diabetics benefit from a low carb, high fat diet. I was better within 3 months, & 8 years on at (77) I am in excellent health with NO diabetes symptoms.
LISTEN TO PATIENTS WHO HAVE DONE WELL, NOT SCIENTISTS.

Afternoon all,

Hope it's as good a day as it possibly can be for everyone, hoping it gets better if not.
Still getting readings in the 7's & sometimes 8's first thing, but coming down to 5's & 6's for the rest of the day (even an hour after eating), so I'm reasonably pleased.

Got a full line of washing out blowing in the breeze, the only downside to that is the ironing after.

At 12:01 Post Meridian, today, Monday 23rd May, 2016, this midday/afternoon, I consumed a Toasted poached egg sandwich made with 2 eggs, 2 Kingsmill 50/50 slices of bread and a light sprinkling of salt on the eggs inside the bread. At 1:09 Post Meridian I took my blood glucose reading and it was 8.1 Millimoles Per Litre.

Rons finally got through to kingsmill hospital they are going to chase up his X ray as it shouldn't be taking this long. the GP should have the result in a couple of days. im so mad with this hospital.

his BG reading this morning was 4.9 and this lunch time hes 4.8 and totally knackered as his works have put him back on his normal job . Even though his doctors letter has said light duties.

@IanD wonderful news. I feel like I want to post that everywhere to spread the word. On here we all support LCHF in varying degrees and know it's benefits but to hear someone put it like you have is an inspirational (and reminder to stick to it) post.
Maybe you could put it on a thread in the newbies section? @catherinecherub may be able to add it to her info for newbies? Used to be @daisy1 who sent info but not seen her name for a while

@liam1955
Just shows how important insulin is in giving good control like you normally seem to have
