Type 2 Life

Morning all, sorry for my absence yesterday - I had a thumping headache with this cold so I had a nice restful day away from the computer. I needed time to recover cos I'm going to be out today, a friend is coming with me to the Hobbycraft show at the NEC. Hope everyone is well

I prefer to use elbow crutch to stick cos my grip isn't good and I'd be forever dropping the dam thing but not only that I never felt steady with a stick

I was the same with scatica. I would have had to use 2 sticks to steady me. Those crutches are very very sturdy. I just needed one but maybe physio would disagree.

Good morning, on this very sunny in South London July Saturday with a lovely forget-me-not blue sky to all my friends,

I had a good night's sleep last night and after 6 hash browns this morning and taking my medication my blood sugar was 6.9.

If your problem is one sided and you remember to use the crutch on the opposite side to the dodgy one and move both forwards together then physios would give you thumbs up. I probably would be best with two but I can't walk a dog with two so has to be the one. Not only that my elbow and hand opposite worst side can't take the pressure for too long
Age Concern shops or whatever their name these days are best place to find them. Hospital s don't take them back for refurb these days so lots end up there

Hi, everyone on www.diabetes.co.uk,

I was at a loose end so I came to the library and logged on to PC 3 where I'm sending this message.

I haven't done very much today, I just spoke to my Dad who rang at tennish in the morning and we shared memories of my childhood and he prompted me to help myself more and said even though I've got a bad back that doesn't mean I don't fight the urge to sit down all day doing nothing manifest in my psychotic depression that runs concurrently with my attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Asperger Syndrome. My Dad's 85 and has a lot of physical illnesses plus a lot of pain and he has managed to be one hundred per cent independent. He's an inspiration to me. One of the physical diseases he has is type 2 diabetes mellitus which he manages and maintains impeccably.

I also visited my friend Ioanna after eating a bowl of chili con carne poured out of a tin that my friend Lee gave me from his FoodBank parcel because he doesn't eat it. At Ioanna's I drank 3 glasses of tap water and proceeded to watch a Western made in black and white with Robert Mitchum about outlaws and cowboys. I watched it on her Freeview television. I decided to come to the library to use the Internet because Lee's gone to visit his cousin in another part of South London called Tulse Hill. He'll be back in 2 hours time and come and visit me at my flat.

It sounds as if you are having a really great day @autisticwonder1970 - I hope it continues to be a good day for you.

I hope you have a great day at the Hobbycraft show @Diamum5972 and I hope you get over your cold soon, I feel for you as I have been sick 3 times in a row, it sucks. I got a surprise this morning, FBG 4.9 which is strange as I havnt been eating properly. We also have the first proper frost this morning, everything is white so Im staying inside

Guessing you aren't in the UK.... though our weather's been weird, frost in July really WOULD be strange
