Type 2 Life

Hi all. Have been following you all with great interest and decided i would like to join in your group. So here goes... 6.9 for me this morning. ☺

Welcome - I'm posting on here as we can reply and support each other here. I'm still learning and there are times when I just don't understand my blood sugars, I just think they have a mind of there own. There are so many factors that affect them that often someone else can come up with useful ideas.

Hi Hiitsme, thank you thats what i need. I am hoping that this may keep me on track. ☺

This morning BGL 4.1 mmmol/L . Hill walking for an hour.
Didn't feel hungry until 2pm. Soup with home made crispbread.
At 4.30 BGL 4.6mmol/L. Garden work all afternoon.
After dinner, BGL4.3mmol/L Ketones 1.4
Now watching terrific storm, much lightning, good rain for the garden!
Keep well.

Just listened to the food programme on Radio 4 - apparently frying/cooking with fats and oils such as dripping, lard, butter, olive and coconut oils are better for us than using sunflower and other vegetable oils! Finally the voice of reason!!
Yes, I heard that too....
Lard and dripping are soon to reappear in my shopping basket!!
Who would have thought it....
Not too sure my GP is going to be on the same page about my Lipid profile... but what ho!

I have found that many HCPs are very pleased with results and beam at ya. They ask how you achieve the weight loss, improved HDL etc etc and then scowl when you tell them that you low carb. But the more people low carb, the more they will see the results for themselves.

There do seem to be a lot of folk reporting such, sadly I is not one of them.... low carb and high(ish) fat for 20 months and Lipids are still +8 and showing no signs of changing.... :(
but my liver function has rejected three statins and GP not too pushy on trying a fourth one.... yet!

hmmmm... hope all are okay
4.8 am

Fbg 7.2 but up too early and now I'm tired. Have to get ready to take son to school. 2yr old has started his demanding day too. Shattered. :-(

Hi Folks

5.5 for me the last two mornings and saw my first 4.8 since the I had a steroid jab yesterday tea time, so generally pretty pleased.

Although my rolling average is around 5.7 it looks to have leveled out at that and hopefully will come down again, so sticking with the three metformin for now.

5.2 this morning
Had some meatballs and spag last night, twice cooked spag that is, 6.7 2 hours after and 5.2 this morning, which is okay I do this once every 3 months... but the sweating last night.... not so nice.
busy day today

6.0 this morning. Not surprised it's a bit higher. Went to friends for a meal last night rice with main course and fruit pudding for desert. Not tried a pudding since being diagnosed. 5.3 before and 6.6 just over 2 hours afterwards so that wasn't too bad. Also I only walked about 2 and a half miles so a lot less then usual. So today sensible food and a bit more walking.

5.2 this morning

@hankjam did you have to take extra insulin?

If I reduce my insulin through the day my bgs increase giving me hunger before bed. Or if I take more insulin throughout day I'm hungry all day. Feel I carnt win at mo. Unless I make a conscious effort to FAST before bed.
