When I'm at my clinics I get the impression the wheelchair bound sufferers have been attending clinic for years. Clinic are not getting through to some stubbon and difficult patients. Open minded, hard working and positive sufferers benefit the most.Just heard on the radio that amputations caused by diabetes are now at all time high, 20 procedures a day. Now that's a wake up call to get back on my LCHF today ....

They need to WANT to fight the cause! Many haven't the fight in them. Mentally or physically. Lack of knowledge of the lchf variation benefits are causing 'the feeders' to make matters worse. I see a lot of men in their 50-60s in wheelchairs and are very unhappy.
I feel like grabbing them and injecting them with hope and positivity.
They need counselling maybe? No money in the nhs for diabetics who need a lift (mentally).
I feel like starting a basic life coach course and supplying it as a charity to a lot of long term sufferers. Of course this site is great for the savy diabetic but not all diabetics have the inspiration or open mind to help themselves. Of course no cure but good management is the only holy grail we have which is realistic, right now.
Never lose your inspiration @PenfoldAPD but if you do, seek help to gain your pzazz!
Pzazz is the answer for disheartened diabetics. Then diet, then exercise then meds.![]()
I've looked on the internet and cant find anything to link arthritis and seizures. Have found plenty of things that can cause them . The following are Rons triggers ....heat, vision problems seeing flashing green lights , headaches and head numbness, fatigue and lack of sleep due to pain.I hope his day improves.
I don't know of any diabetics who have plain sailing. Some like to think they have all the answers and their way is better.
Diabetics motto should 'one fit definitely doesn't fit all'.
I'm guessing @eldergarth 's diabetes is well controlled now so just seisures the worry? I know arthritis has to be managed by drugs and will always have good days and bad days, like diabetes.
So if not MS causing seisures, I wonder what's causing them? Does GP any ideas?
I'm sorry if I sound dumb but I've never heard arthritis causing seisures, or am I wrong?
Any ideas? Any specialist appointment coming up who can help?
This sounds like the last hurdle. I'm sure @eldergarth would prefer that condition treatable since he's working full-time and driving. He is doing a fantastic job with @tina_marie managing the diabetes and other health conditions. You are both huge WINNERS in my book. I admire you both.
Can nerve damage cause seisures? Have either of you posted a thread to see other sufferers response? We all deserve the right support.![]()
Some are symptoms of arthritis. Fatigue and pain. I would imagine pain will give headaches because of the stress to the body.I've looked on the internet and cant find anything to link arthritis and seizures. Mostly everything happens when hes in bed . They are a mixture tremors first then seizures follow . Another problem he has is memory , forgetting to test so at the weekend I wrote out memos and stuck them around the house to remind him to test. He use to do this religiously but since his last hba1c hes forgetting .when he has tested they have mostly been in the 6s and 7s . Today he was 7.8 yesterday 6.8 Monday 7.2.Some are symptoms of arthritis. Fatigue and pain. I would imagine pain will give headaches because of the stress to the body.
Good pain relief is going to be paramount. Watch out for side affects from those tablets/injections.
Is Ron having no seisures but tremours? Are they mostly on relaxing?
What is his average bgs these days? Lows can give shaking and jerky movements for me. Too low carb gives me shakes which aren't hypo related. Some don't have shakes on strict lchf.
Well Tuesday came and went. Saw the GP who had no knowledge of either of my hospital visits and couldn't access the results on his computer. I went home, rang the consultant's secretary who confirmed the results "hadn't been processed yet". I said I'm due at Gatwick on Sunday and really need to know what is happening in my head!Unfortunately they don't like to rush and if anything like my local hospital they only class Mon-Fri as a day not weekends or bank holidays .
Big hugs mate and hope you get answers soon
It was only yesterday that Ron finally got his results letter from the hospital. We

We decided to go. My GP isn't actually at work today and can't chase the hospital on my behalf so I may have to pester them again. I haven't been able to use my right eye since the 12th. The causes of a 3rd Cranial nerve weakness can be tumour, aneurysm or blood clot. I'm on blood thinners and the pain isn't going, so maybe there's no clot. Diabetes can cause micro blood vessel problems as we know so I'm hoping that is what is behind it all. Clopidogrel makes me feel sick all the time and my sugars are starting to climb. HbA1c was last Friday and STILL no-one can give me the results! Will you have to cancel your holiday @nomoredonuts ? How is your vision and headaches etc ?
That's such a poor show. Compared with Ron, I feel selfish about not wanting to miss a holiday. But it involves meeting my daughter, her hubby and my seven-year-old grandson who live in Spain and who we don't see enough. All I want is a verbal yes or no, go or cancel. They can send the letter any time!!It was only yesterday that Ron finally got his results letter from the hospital.
Thanks @lizanne . The Algarve should have decent wifi, so I'll try and check in now and then. xx@nomoredonuts I'm so angry on your behalf. The trouble with our NHS/GP systems nowadays is that they have grown so big! When I was a girl in the 50s/60s our GPs knew their patients and were able to access info from the local hospital with one phone call. I hope that you have a lovely holiday with your family and that you have no health problems during your time away.
No need to feel bad you have a right to know what is wrong . I hope you get your answer soon and your holiday goes smoothly. I've had to ring our gp surgery today to get Ron an appointment the earliest they can do is the 27th September .That's such a poor show.
