Hi Maureen - stick with it hun - I'm sure they'll get it sorted soon. Hugs x

After a week back from the land of pastries I'm posting around 6.3 FBG. Hoping for 5's soon. Amazed at how quickly the carbs affected me - been feeling rather rough, dopey, thick headed. This has lead to laziness so getting up at 5:55am to swim Hasn't happened. I know it will pass soon but frustrating when you want to be a good diabetic :)

The M&M's bought for me from the US have been put at the back of the cupboard for days when my BG is more controlled.

Hope to be back on the forum contributing when my head is a little more focused - even work has been a struggle, but maybe that is the post holiday blues?

Hope everyone is well - I'm Liking everything, I just can't show it until the forum is totally fixed!

We are all going to have to answer each others posts if we want to agree or like what's said. That will bump up the number of postings we all make!

I'm pleased to see forum back up and running and I'm sure likes etc will be back soon as has been reported.

I'll try again. New rule at our surgery now, you have to be over 65 to qualify for the flu jab! So hopefully I don't get flu this winter, don't know if this is rule for all surgeries. Night everyone

I don't think there's an age limit at our surgery, but after a bad reaction to the jab last year and TWO full-blown bouts of flu afterwards which knocked me off my feet from New Year's Eve until March, I'm not bloody well having one this year anyway - I'll take my chances!!!

I've noticed a strange trend with my FBGs in the past week or so. It seems that if I get a higher reading after dinner - mid to upper 6s - then I get a lower FBG the following morning. The difference is only relatively small - between 0.3 and 0.7 - but I'm wondering if there's a reason for it or whether it's just coincidence...?

I'm not aware of a reason for that @debrasue. My fbg s usually reflect the overall amount of carbs I've eaten the day before - although, if I eat/ snack after dinner they are always higher than usual. I suppose that's the opposite of what you are describing, (we eat our main meal before 6pm)

Surely this age does not include peopel with diabetes does it ??

I'm sure Patsy's right - it probably doesn't apply to those with other medical issues or compromised immune systems.

I don't like being a Well Known Member.
I used to find it very motivational each day to tell myself I was a Legend.
:(

I'm now in my 3rd month of my "testing phase" after my second A1C of 29 and only now starting to conclude that unless I live as I did for my first three months, my BG levels will creep up by around 2.0mmol, to about 7.0mmol.

No matter how good OPPO or very dark chockie or my fav spelt pave bread, regular consumption defeats my suppressed BG.

I've figured out that at about 75g carbs per day which is not much, but more than double what I consumed for weeks 1-12, I can keep my BG around 5.0, so with 3 weeks left, I'll test a few more carby foods and see if any agree with me more than the various batches I've tried this last 9 weeks.

The only break through I've really discovered is 1 tablespoon of organic cider vinegar, taken with my morning drinks as it tastes rank:). It drops my BG by about 2.0 very quickly first thing.

I'd previously tested various cider vinegar tabs which did nothing, but the real stuff at 1 table spoon, is terrific .....so perhaps this rather frustrating testing phase has been worth it after all:)

Hi Kevin I had a very carby meal the other day BG went up to 9.3 at 1 hour but was down to below 7.0 at two hours so far so good but am going to have to get back on track now.

Yep, I'll agree with that! I have to pop out soon, the DSS want me to do work experience at their office (!) so I have a meeting with the person who will be supervising me. Wish me luck!

I get exactly the same, I have no proof of what causes it, only that it is more than a coincidence. My theory (FWIW) is that night time BS doesn't drop below the threshold that triggers my liver into action
