That means they have to call in an outside contractor who can actually open the drain cover in my front yard. The reason why the water is so dirty is because it's coming from the gutter at the top of the block, if it is blocked up like they think all the dirt and yucky stuff is coming into my kitchen because it has nowhere else to go. The worse thing is, my cooker has been standing in this water for so long it's showing signs of electrical problems, the cooker light started flickering while I was cooking tea so now that's had to be switched off until the water is sorted out
I'm so sorry to hear this Vicky, arthritis is horrible. You get good days and bad days with it, but it never really goes away. Having said that, though, I do get a few days each year when, for no apparent reason, I get no pain whatsoever, anywhere. I really live for those days and enjoy them to the max! So it's not all bad news and hopefully your painkillers will be able to give you some ongoing relief. I've joined my family in suffering arthritic pain. I'm on the same tablets as my mum but she is 67yr old. I'm not happy as I was hoping I'd skip it since I'm the only one with diabetes.
Call your housing officer and tell him/her you need some support. That this is unacceptable. Dont accept this as ok Barbara. Dont let them have an easy life as your detriment. They see this a lot so they have measures in place but out of lazyness they will try and fob you off. Insist.Argh! Tina's right - your painkillers should help a lot and at your age I would certainly expect it to come and go. Many of us find that it's weather-related too - you'll become a human barometer, able to tell when a storm's heading your way when it's still only halfway across the Atlantic! Personally I find that the change in air pressure affects me most, but hot, dry stable weather seems to keep it under control. One day at a time, hun - and as Tina says, you're joining a big family and we're all here for you! Big hugs xx

I have little one in nursery starting 19th so this will definitely help. After xmas I might up him to full-time. We'll see.
Yes, you're maybe not living in the best part of the world for arthritis relief!!! And you're right about pregnancy taking its toll - I read somewhere that your cartilage doesn't get back to normal until a year after the birth! xx

A little part of me is hoping not arthritis just a repairable joint after jumping off the tiny wall. I was sooo excited about taking baby out for new bits with my mum in Hastings I got carried away and thought I was 20 not 43yr old. I think Pregnancy does make you feel bouncy. A got a big shock when I thumped on my landing instead of bounced it off. Ha ha

Ow your poor mum! My mum is 71 (or 7.1 as she prefers to say!) and she has arthritis in her back and all down her left hand side. She still gets out and about thanks to her big chunky walking stick, she's lethal with that thing! It might be arthritis thou as that was 3 and a half years ago when I jerked it. The tester will be if I have arthritis elsewhere. I don't think I have nor pain anywhere but there.
My poor mum has a metal hip, knee and toes and has just been told her other knee needs doing now. Arthritis is rife up here!

They banged on about optimum attendance for 12 months with no sick leave and we said impossible ask
I'm allowed 2 periods of sick over the next 12 months I'll try my best to have none
