Well, it's not as if you're new to all this and don't know what you're doing, and I'm sure you've tried all the usual things, so it sounds to me as if a visit to your DN might be in order. If it's been going on for a couple of weeks something must be causing it, so it might be a good idea to get a professional opinion, do you think?Hi all past couple weeks my bgs have been high 6's or 7+ In mornings when I get up, Don't know why or what to do any ideas anyone? What's causing it & why thanks
Hi debrasue. I agree that's why I'm confused, not changed diet really, I've cut out cheese but past few months started eating more eggs, bacon, very little pork steaks agsin , &. Cream & Greek yoghurt instead of low fat, but every few months my bgs start playing up again in morning, (sorry lads) I've been having terrible hot flushes past few months around same time last year had same problem, but flushes finished years ago till I was put on meds! Spoke to nurse & doctor about it before, one said stop one of my meds & no more strips as a result of doing so, nurse said increase meds!!! High morning bgs isn't good, I've checked my averages for this month with my metre & it says 6.4% which is 39 I think whoch is down from 41 which I was at last hbc1a, I know only blood test can give true result but metre does show lower than befor so how come high morning Bgs ? Could it be carbs? I've got appiontment for 4th October for a blood test, been asking for months to see someone. Thanks sgain, hope your well, & everyone on forumWell, it's not as if you're new to all this and don't know what you're doing, and I'm sure you've tried all the usual things, so it sounds to me as if a visit to your DN might be in order. Hurrah! Yaaay! That's great news BarbaraFinally I have some good news about my kitchen woo hoo! One of the engineers who came out a couple of days ago has been popping in to check my progress and he's been getting more and more disgusted with how I've been treated. He knocked the door earlier to say my neighbour called him out for the same problem so after much toing and froing between our houses him and his colleagues worked out what the problem was. They've used a wet vac to suck up the water for now and they're coming back tomorrow to sort the problem for good. Phew! I can now go into my kitchen without having to wear welly boots
Can strips be faulty? Mine are well within dateMaureen - When did you last change to a new pot of strips? Sometimes a pot can read a bit lower or higher than usual. I know you only talk about your fasting levels going up, but sometimes other readings vary a bit more anyway, so may not be suspected?
It's just a thought I always try to keep in mind if something like that happens to me.

Started new tub couple days ago, didn't realise temperature may effect strips. ThanksIt's not usually that they are faulty it's just they can vary a bit sometimes, especially if they have been stored in a very cold, or a very hot place. Like anything made in batches, there can be variations, even when very much in date. When did you last start a new tub?
I'm not telling you that's the answer, just trying to help with further reasons your numbers could seem different.

Good idea. Thanks very much will tryDo you have any others, bought at a different time, from another batch? I have to say I don't always, but if you do, it could be worth opening a tub from the other batch and trying that for a couple of days, side-by-side with what you're using now.
If you an, it would just rule that out or in the mix.
