You can't take any other meds with the patches Ron has, unfortunately. That was one of the reasons I stopped using them.
 
Good afternoon, my friends,

I'm in the library today logging on to www.diabetes.co.uk and using the Type 2 Life part of the forum and will be doing so until my new Acer Chromebook arrives as paid for by my financial appointee of my disability benefits.

I had a good day today and haven't done very much oweing to my grave musculoskeletal pain and occasional meltdowns with my Asperger Syndrome but I managed to nip them in the bud when Lee and my Christian friend Matthew came round to see me and I spoke to my diabetic elderly daddy this morning who's got sinus situs at the moment and taking antibiotics in his sheltered housing flat in North Finchley, London, near to where |I was brought up.

I ate a tomato sandwich and almost a whole tin of sweet choccy biscuits which was totes naughty and a bit dumb considering my diabetic condition but hey what the hell we all have slips and temptations from time to time so it's best to put my best foot forward and start a fresh slate from now on. I'm still on sweeteners in my tea and coffee though and have been drinking quite a bit of tap water.

I haven't taken my blood glucose recently but my Lixisenatide glucagon-like peptide injection helps keep them all in check.

My musculoskeletal pain has been a bit more bearable in the last 40 minutes since I rubbed Ibuprofen Gel into the affected areas and took 200 mg of Ibuprofen and 500 mg of Paracetomol.

If I'm motivated I'll have a Sainsbury's Basics 80 pence Sausage, Mash and onion gravy ready meal for my tea a bit later on.

Much love to all my best friends forever. Let's really collaborate and beat these diabetic afflictions together. I love you all and it's a real privilege to have the library to communicate with you all online and read your very interesting posts which I read analytically although I don't always respond.

I'm tired so will be off to bed shortly. A busy day but a day I've learnt from.
Had great fun in virtual christmas party thread.
 
I'm pleased to say my breathing has been a little better the last few days. I think it's pain related.
Codeine and co-codamol giving me full relief on resting and takes the edge of walking pain. Chest pains gone on codeine. Once it starts wearing off my ache and heaviness starts again.
I'm happier as I've at last got some relief. It's still a concern but I can have periods where I can forget about the cause.
 
That's great news Vicky I'm glad you are finally getting some relief and may it long continue
Sorry missed the Xmas party I'm still suffering with my pain but managed to get appointment with doc today so hopefully get the dosage increased

Maybe you could join our new years eve party, in the same thread. If your feeling more yourself? I'll love to see you both there!
I hope gp is good to you and understands all you've been through. They see it all so it can be difficult to see pain as a long term problem when they see if resolved everyday, so easily.
I wish my problems were resolved as I'd like to go back to work. I miss the office banter and routine.
I cannot dress myself most days. I'm just thankful mr ickihun has been around to help. If he'd been working I'd be in a worse state. 3yr old doesn't care whose dressing him as long as it's someone. I'm hoping the 5th will make a difference but I've been told it is just an appointment to determine which dept. I need help from. No consultation. I can tell them....pelvis and back specialist. An x-ray might help!
I've read when some problems are left uncorrected it damages other areas. It was only my pelvis but my back is stiff now. All unnecessary, I think. Such a backward way of solving a problem, 3rd world mentality, even. What a waste of money too.
I haven't heard anything back from hospital but it is early, only one working day since my scan so I'd best not expect too much.

Off to top-up pain relief as getting grouchy. Ooops!
 
I miss work to Vicky getting bored out my brain I have my hobby to help but only so much I can do before the pain gets to much my muscle weakness is now affecting my jaw so whatever is the problem it is spreading
Hope you get your results quicker than I did and it gives you the answers you need
 
I'm resting this afternoon, in fact I cannot keep my eyes open. I'm popping off for a nap. Sooooo stiff!
I've ensured I've walked everyday for a while, on top of my daily duties. Its much easier on painkillers. Just stiff and slow.
I do wonder what's triggered mine. I get a medically problem on average every 7-8yrs. I guess this is the new one. Autoimmune based?
I have a list of attacks now. I wonder if I'll get something else when I'm in my 50s, then 60s.
Mind u most are recovered from without death so at least I won't have to worry too much. Courtesy of the nhs thou.
 
I've been over the road to take Xmas card to my car dealer who has always looked after us and just doing that has brought on the pain in my legs and lungs only walked about 100yrds going to be fun getting to the docs thing will have to leave here by 3pm to get there for 4 at this rate lol
Have a lovely nap Vicky could do with one myself

Hi Vicky were back have had to remove the patch and go back on the Co dydramol for next 2 weeks while get rid of the pleurisy been given antibiotics 500mg clarithromycin then back on the patches but if pleurisy comes back again got to stop using the patches
 
I'm glad your back home. Rest, rest and more rest. Kick this pleurisy right up the jacksy.
Does those co dydramol take the edge off? The codeine is helping me with pain but nothing else. At least you have antibiotics to make a difference. I had a chest x-ray but cardiologist was happy with it, I assume.
I was so ill I couldnt really listen well. Best to have another pair of ears to remind u of advice. My deaf mum was mine. I cannot rely on what she heard but no antibiotics til I was in hospital the 2nd time. No pleursy was mentioned, thank god.
My back is bad today thou. Off to top-up codeine and read to 3yr old. Get as much rest as possible. Both of you.
 
The Co dydramol don't do much for the pain but at least won't have diarrhea lol so it's back on the laxido again as well

Too early but I am tempted to call appointments to see if another scan booked. If I do I'll just worry over Christmas. I'm going to relax about it til after new year. Breathing in rest is much much better on pain relief. I think that's the clue. Breathlessness better on diuretic but more importantly on better pain relief. I'm just stiff on trying to move pelvis (walking). Back locked too. I can feel what's more affected now far less pain. Codeine is a huge help. Not pain-free but far far better. Its lifted my mood too.

I am posting to inform you all that I'm back at the library logging on.

I had 2 slices of cheese on toast this morning for an early breakfast and my blood glucose reading was 6.3 Millimoles Per Litre. I've been feeling really down recently with my Asperger Syndrome. I'm perfectionistically striving for perfect diabetes management but I always let the old "devil carbs" adopt a stronghold in my life. I seem to be total rubbish at managing my diabetes and I need to do something about it. The thing is, I really love bread and rice and spaghetti but in order to achieve blood glucose readings in the 4's and the 5's I have to eradicate the "devil carbs". Cauliflower rice would be lovely to eat, I simply adore cauliflower.

I'm still on the sweeteners, though, in tea and coffee.

Many special blessings to you all and so sorry for being so depressing.
