Type 2 Life

@leslie10152 can you see your medical team soon. They hopefully can support you medically and we can help in other ways.
Hold on in there. I know it can be very very torturous. Many do low carb eating which gives the bgs a steadier level to work from. Protein and fat still needs covering with insulin but not as severe a bounce back, compared to carbs.
You must reduce your insulin if you do decide to try low carb mate.
If your interested you/we could start a thread for support just for you til things settle down? Huge experience on here for insulin management. I'm just a beginner!
What do you think?

Hello there!

I find the ALA very helpful for Nerve disturbances and it has calmed my Neuropathy down so much its liveable. Sleeping used to be impossible but I get a good 6 hours a night now. Adrenalin is a major cause of palpitations but your Beta Blocker should be addressing that issue? Lanzoprazol is excellent for sorting out Gut issues so heres hoping your palpitations will soon calm down.
Thanks again @Vern . :) :) :)

Bless him. And you. Scary heart issues are always a concern. Luckily our clever cardiologist are a huge help!
It can be a worry but he keeps going despite being told when he had his aortic aneurysm op 10 years ago that he might never work again. I keep telling him that if we lived in the USA we'd be bankrupt by now. I know we may complain about it but we're so lucky to have the good ole NHS!

Definitely. I would have died a few times over by now. Especially in childbirth. Every 10yrs I have a big health scare. I'm convinced autoimmune disease. A defective gene.

Well the FBG is even higher this morning - I've taken more co-codamol this week as my back has been bad and I've also cut down a bit on amount of food (had a sedentary week with loads of paperwork to plough through). Plus cut down a bit on the cheese.

Not sure what my liver is up to as there are rises between meals as well as the increased FBG.

Rant over - going to sit down a bit after lunch and have a look at food and trends to see if I can spot a pattern

Walking can make a hug difference! Get more walking in for now. I wouldn't make too many changes too quickly. Walking and getting liver blocks in will bring that fbg down if your low carbing.

Hope I'm not jinxing myself but after my afternoon nap I feel a lot more me!
Palpatations are settling down. Started higher beta blocker dose on tuesday. Maybe just kicking in now.
Very tired earlier thou.
Been in garden with little one and sorted something to be cooked, for a change.
Mr ickihun is looking forward to getting his common law wife back.
I just want my life back.

Good Morning, my good friends from me Johnny on PC No 1 a public computer at Tate South Lambeth Public Library,

I'm on Day 2 of my Smoking Quit now!

Although I've been recording some impeccable blood glucose readings I have noticed pronounced "spikes" in my blood glucose levels in the last few days. Last night I went to bed at approximately 8:00 Post Meridian BST and woke up at 1:15 ante meridian BST this morning and about 15 minutes later I had 2 tomato sandwiches both within 20 minutes of each other. My blood glucose, a considerably long time after, was 16.4 Millimoles Per Litre then many hours later it fell to 4.4 millimoles per litre. At about 6 or 7 ish this morning it was frozen on 9.0 Millimoles Per Litre then 7.7 then 7.9. This fluctuations aren't healthy and have had me immensely worried. I'm going to have to try the LCHF diet again, and stick to it this time, showing better motivation and see if that makes a difference. I haven't had sugar in coffee this morning only Sainsbury's Sucralose Sweetener tablets, 2 in each mug.

I think I'm doing OK but there's a significant room for improvement and I@m approaching Day 3 of my Smoking Quit, too!

Have a lovely day.

Love and Hugs,

From Johnny x X x.
Quitting smoking may add to spikes in your BGL's. It is a stressful time and the body sometimes reacts to this in peculiar ways. Cortisol, released from the adrenal glands during stress cause the liver to push glucose into the blood stream as a coping mechanism. Illness, dehydration and sleep deprivation may also trigger this response.

At Endocrologist quick booked appointment late afternoon today. I have a list of questions. I think appointment has been arranged to eliminate thyroid not causing fast heart beats before cardiologist on friday makes a decision about forward care.
All scary stuff.
Neither wonder I'm losing weight! :nailbiting: :nailbiting: :nailbiting:

In a truly foul and ugly mood. I have isolated myself from the world so no one else gets hurt by the fallout. BGL's are frightening at this time. So fed up with everything !!!

Good afternoon, to all my friends on www.diabetes.co.uk website from me, @autisticwonder1970, from a public computer,

I'm so sorry that I haven't been prevalent on this fab website. The library was closed all day yesterday and I had to go to the local hospital for an ultrasound scan to check out my renal functioning and kidney pain. The results will go back to my GP in approximately a week to 10 days time. Thanks 4 the lovely well written quote @leslie10152, I had an inkling that quitting smoking would cause variable spikes in my blood glucose levels. I also know about neurotransmitter activity in the brain. I found it very comforting to know that for the sake of reassurance from a second party. I've relapsed on the quit again and my smoking advisor from my local stop smoking service suggested having a chill out smoking time because he believes I'm taking on too much too soon and that it's affecting my stress levels. I'm going to try quitting again on 14th April 1997 so that's what I'm going to reset my quit date to on the smoking cessation online support group at www.quitnet.com.

My blood sugar was 7.8 at one time this morning after eating tomato sandwiches and just recently it was a very healthy 5.2 mmol even with occasional smoking of cigarettes.

Have a lovely day to all my friends on this special forum. I'm thinking of you all every day and still am lighting a candle for my special forum member friends @debrasue and @ikihun and other fab people.

Blessings, love, hugs and best wishes to you all and all the www.diabetes.co.uk moderators and facilitators. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for you guys.

Love from Johnny Baker, a sufferer of Asperger Syndrome, Personality Disorder NOS and Musculoskeletal Disorder. x X x.
