Hi, @13lizanne, yes the Church is the Body of Christ, that is, per se, the fellowship of different people who all have one faith in common in the Lord Jesus Christ. I attended a small Baptist Chapel near where I live in South West London called Courland Grove where I'm still friends with the man and wife - the man has retired now and was Pastor - who served there in the mid-1990's. Although St Stephen's is Church of England, we're a multicultural body of believers from many different backgrounds and we're Evangelical and believe in the gifts of the Spirit, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and baptism by immersion as well as infant baptism for babies new to the faith. We're very informal and our services are interactive and there are loads of youth work opportunities and children's activities during the service. I feel this is where my heart belongs rather than with the Jehovah's Witnesses, who, in my opinion, their doctrine and teachings didn't seem to ring true or sound right according to the Bible. I really enjoyed the service today and Christ, the head of the Church, has motivated me and given me great emotional, physical and psychological strength. We do belong to Jesus and greater is He that is in us than the Enemy is in the world, cast down here by the Archangel Michael as a consequence of the struggle in Heaven with all his demons. Jesus is my Lord and by His stripes, I am confident providing I can learn to make the right decisions and change my lifestyle habits I will escape Judgement and Hell on Judgement Day when we all go to Heaven by the Grace of the Lord God.I thank you too Johnny and I pray for you too. I belong to the Baptist denomination but like yourself, belong to Jesus, that's what really matters to us, isn't it?
You are doing really well with staying away from sugar in your drinks - brilliant enjoy your day today xx @JohnnyBaker12021970
Well, I must be really thick, too because I understood exactly what you meant the first time!Correction - I worded it wrong. I should have written "There is loads more healthy options of foods to eat when I'm sensitive to eating complex carbohydrate rich food.
See I can't even write properly and grammatically now. Or express myself without making it sound like utter gibberish. I must be really thick.
No, you're not thick, @debrasue, you're a very wise and learned loving person and your advice you've given myself for the purpose of my necessary rectifications to my diet plan are greatly favoured and appreciated by myself. Thank you very h, my lovely friend. I know I'm not "thick", thanks to my faith in the Lord, my upbringing, and my high functioning autism I'm actually very gifted by still learning. Life is a learning process.Well, I must be really thick, too because I understood exactly what you meant the first time!
@ickihun glad your heart has settled down. Hubby had a bit of a shock the other day when his heart beat dropped too low then, when the pacemaker kicked in, it went too fast but soon settled. Life can be somewhat unpredictable at times can't it!,@Daphne917 looks like I've lost the palpitations. On a few more starchy carbs lately due to having to manage 6wks hols money with food shopping bill being higher. No matter how I do it basic carbs are cheaper and good tummy filler for the 4 of us.
Cardiologist just said I have a mild level of atherosclerosis and betablocker increased due to blood pressure and too high a pulse speed. I'm thankful I've been discharged from their department as I want to just concentrate on weight loss for good diabetes care. Which in turn will help heart health too, I understand.@ickihun glad your heart has settled down. My Nurse Practitioner at my health centre recently expressed her concern for a number of times I was testing my blood glucose. She said that when on diabetes treatment of an incretin mimetic like Lixisenatide, which I'm on, it's not essential to test blood glucose about 5 times a day (which I'd been doing it or more) but once a week. She said the only three factors for regular testing of blood glucose, to avoid hypoglycaemia, is:-
* When the patient is on insulin
* When the patient drives a motor car
* When the patient is on an anti-hyperglycemic medication called Gliclazide which can cause hypoglycaemia.
So, we've agreed I only test my blood glucose once a week every Tuesday morning before breakfast.
My blood glucose reading before seeing the Nurse Practitioner who expressed concern for the cost of all the test strips I've had over the past month was 5.4 millimoles per litre after eating my lamb doner kebab.
Hello Johnny I have to disagree with your nurse and don't think once a week is enough as the reason for testing is not just to avoid hypoglycaemia but to help us determine what foods increase our blood sugar. My Nurse Practitioner at my health centre recently expressed her concern for a number of times I was testing my blood glucose.
