Type 2 Life

That's great news. Well done.
Any more news on the blood pressure?

The GP has referred me to the Cardiologist because on maximum dosages of the BP meds AND having lost all this weight, it was still sitting at 185/115 last time I got it checked, and that was during the holidays when I was relaxed and well-rested! I'm trying very hard not to worry, since that will only make things worse, so getting good results on the kidney function tests was a huge relief :)

5.8 this morning so OK with that, yes I would like it lower so may need to try harder.

@Alzebra my blood pressure is normally high when taken at my GP's but I take it at home most days and it is a lot lower. For me the stress of visiting the doctor puts my blood pressure up and sometimes it's still high when I get home (with my testing) and then gradually goes back down. I do hope you can get it sorted but as your other results are so very good that might even help your blood pressure. All the best.

Blood test results back from 29 Dec, my kidney function is completely normal despite my recent blood pressure worries AND my HbA1c has dropped from 31 to 29 during the three months since I stopped taking Metformin :joyful::singing::cool: This is all thanks to the support and advice I've received here, encouraging me on my LCHF journey. You people?? You are the best - thank you!!!
Fantastic news, well done!

@Alzebra has your blood pressure been monitored for 24hrs?
Under my old consultant I was but results were inconclusive as the machine failed to get alot of readings (mainly through the night).
I hope you feel well other than high blood pressure readings.
Sounds like they are definitely on it for you. Hopefully a solution soon. :-)

Late on Parade...
5.1 am, which as a long time ago.
Letter from GP saying I need to get an appointment to discuss my results.... high Cholesterol. So phoned in afternoon, 19th Jan at 08:50. Asked to be put through to Secretary and was....
Good News: HbA1c rolled in 37... see below!
Hmm News: Tot Chol 7.5, actually going down....
What he wants to see me about: Bilirubins at 28... should be less than 21.... liver function issues.... looking back at my records this is what it has been for some time...

and last night my heart beat went into a very irregular pattern... missing 1 in 6 beats and the other 5 ranged from thumpers to wimps... always a challenge trying to go to sleep with ticker misbehaving....

Only 90 mins of work... just had my haddock fried in butter and coated in ground almonds and a side of salad... 4.9 before...

Take care chums

Hj

Congratulations on the great Hb result @hankjam
bit of a ****** bowt the ticker problems though. It seems you get one thing sorted but there always seems to be something else that will pop up. Wishing you well :)

Hi @13lizanne many thanks.

For a moment I was counting the number of double chins I had.... and it's not that many after LCHF!!... as I completely forgot the significance of the 19th!!!
memory a Gnat me
:)

I've woke up early and decided to weigh myself and check my fbg. 5.5 which for me is excellent.
I'm using a milkshake with water as one meal replacement to shrink my stomach. It's carb content is around 8g per meal. Obviously higher per 100g but so far no spike.
It seems I only lose weight on a restricted calorie diet. I don't fancy the Newcastle diet but my own version of restricted calorie/low carb looks like to be working for me. Fingers crossed.
My problem: I LOVE FOOD. :-(

At 6.15 am, BGL 4.2. Ketones 1.7.
Up the hill this morning, kangaroos in the mist. Day has turned out beautifully sunny, despite rain and floods in other parts of the country.
Blood pressure still going "crackerdog" despite medication. This a.m. 180/70 pulse 48.
I am just concentrating my efforts now, to keeping BGLs below 7.8 which is when endothelial damage occurs in the blood vessels. So far, so good, but I am beginning to think that these medications are actually contributing to the high systolic numbers, and 3episodes of atrial fibrillation that I have had in 2years.
This, of course is nothing, in comparison to the trials and tribulations of others here, and really, I am in very good condition, but goodness, it is good to have somewhere to mention it, now and again.
