Type 2 Life

Well, still no luck on the celeriac front but on the plus side while I was in Asda I found a smartphone at a bargain price :) It was a whole tenner cheaper than in Argos and it has front and back cameras so I can take selfies!

I think I will continue #thegreatceleriachunt next week when I've recovered from all this walking!

I'm tempted to say you were "meant" to spend the celeriac mony on the phone but - I don't think celeriac is that expensive! The phone will give you more pleasure :)

Lol definitely! I've just had a very enjoyable time messing about with it, I think I must take after my Scottish grandad who was an electrical engineer!

Well @Diamum5972 I have just been to Tescos to buy? Guess what? Yes a celeriac! And guess what? They've stopped stocking them but the very nice lady I asked said a few other people had asked too and she would try to get some in. I did found some interesting items though. I've just eaten my first coyo yoghurt which was delicious. I managed to get peanut butter with no added sugar. Also cauliflower cous cous. And a loaf of wheat free bread which I will comment on after I've tried and tested. It was an interesting trip but I was in there well over an hour as I was reading all the labels.:)

Lol @mo53 you had a productive trip! I like the sound of that coyo yoghurt, Greek yoghurt with berries is my standard breakfast and I like to mix up the flavours every now and then. The cauliflower cous cous sounds interesting too, let us know how you get on with that. I can well believe you took a while reading the labels, supermarkets can be a bit of a minefield. Gone are the days when I used to do smash and grab shopping - my son used to get very overstimulated in supermarkets so the shorter time we were in there the better!

@Diamum5972 I'm really looking forward to trying the bread too. I'm sure I read on a thread a while ago that you can get coyo icecream. I studied the ice creams but couldn't find any.

Oh and I bought some heck 97% sausages and some skyr yoghurt which I've never tried either. It was exciting to find so many different things I had never tried. :):)

@mo53 - I would have chosen the Swimming!!! If you enjoy shopping so much for food - can you come through to York and do mine for me - please.:D

Hello @liam1955 I didn't feel like swimming. As you can see I enjoyed my finds in Tesco. I sure you just love shopping really lol. I'm not sure what to have for tea though as I seem to have all sorts to try. :)

Hi William,
All this talk of food is making me hungry again and I've just finished a tomato and cheese omelette. We did our Tesco run this morning, oh happy days. If it's not fresh foods then it takes ages to find out about the sugars because they use different measures. Moan over.

@mo53, what is coyo yoghurt?

Hello @doolallylady . Coyo yoghurt is yoghurt made from coconut milk rather than cows milk. I thought it was delicious. All foods give nutrition in 100g. Usually 5g and under per 100 are fine.

@doolallylady - Hi Karen, how you doing? You've not been on the forum much of late. Are you alright? I am having (Waitrose) Gruyere cheese, crustless quiche, with steamed Broccoli, Carrots and Pototoes with knobs of butter on and for desert Morello Cherry Pie (also Waitrose). And waiting for timer to ping on the steamer.
@mo53 - How can you be stuck for what to have for tea!!!! Yes, do tell us what is this coyote yoghurt???

@liam1955

I'm fine thanks, hope you are too. I've popped in & out but nearly every time I've tried to have a bit of time something's come up, grandsons wanting help with homework, meetings with neighbours (or looking for info) trying to sort out a problem that's going to give us all a headache.
Son due back tonight, probably with a load of washing, he thinks if it's taken out of a drawer or wardrobe it needs washing again!!!! He's back in work tomorrow, at least uniform all ready for him.
Your meal sounds lovely and very moreish, jealous person here.

@mo53

That sounds nice, will see if our local Tesco has them next time we go.

@doolallylady - It is Karen? = Apologies if I got your name wrong!! I do eat healthy when at home. It's just when I am out I don't have willpower to resist, and I am lead astray by other people. If I lived nearer to the "Birthday Boy" @eddie1968 - I would have had the biggest cream cake there was! Are you doing good with your diabetes and blood sugars?

@liam1955 your dinner sounds wonderful. Let us know if it tastes as good as it sounds. The coyo yoghurt mad from coconut milk. I found it rich and absolutely delicious. I believe coyo make icecream too but I couldn't find it today. I posted my food n the low carb what have you eaten thread. If you have a minute have read as it is such a mixture lol don't know the effect yet. :)

@liam1955 , It is Karen so no apologies needed. A cream cake would be nice, you'll have me drooling all over the place.

Bloods are a bit up and down, ranging between 8's and 6's and a few 5's. Inc a 5.9 at 4.45 today before I ate, just tested and it's 6.1, yea!!! As long as they stay in single figures I'll be satisfied for the time being. Weight loss has stopped for a week but at least it's not going up, I'll breathe in tomorrow when on the scales to see if that helps.

@mo53 - I eat a lot of cheese - but the crustless Gruyere Quiche was really nice. I will definitely buy that again. Don't really shop in Tesco although there is a store just up the road from me. And I do like the sound of that coyo yoghurt, will have to buy them. And because my blood sugars have all been good today and it's weekend soon, I am allowed to have treats (but only on weekends though) I have got a Crunchie Bar all to myself this evening = I NEVER share chocolate:D.
