Type 2 Life

@doolallylady - Karen, those results seem fine to me, they are within the limit for 2 hours after meal 4 - 9. I have just got another 10lbs to lose and that will be the 2 stone I was asked to lose by the Diabetic Consultant at the Hospital. Come the decent weather I will be out in the garden/allotment more burning up calories. Give yourself a pat on the back, I think you are doing great and don't beat yourself up if you have the 'odd' high result on a morning.

@liam1955
Thanks for the kind words, I'll admit to being rather impatient about some things, usually when I can't do anything to speed things up!!
Congratulations on the weight loss, although not sharing chocolate won't help, lol. Enjoy your treat, you deserve it.

I have a question which @liam1955 or @13lizanne might be able to answer. My dinner raised my bs from 5.7 to 8. I didn't think that was a problem. What do you think?z
Some people think that more than 2 points of a difference is a spike but the guidelines do say under anything under 8.5 is fine for 2hrs after meals for us type 2s

@mo53 - Just checked the box for the Quiche and it states: 10.7g carbs per one quarter of the Quiche (oops - I had half the Quiche). I ate at 6p.m. so got another 15 mins to go for the 2 hour rule. I go by if there is 10g or less per 100g that is fine for me.

@mo53 - I have just checked my blood sugar and it is 6.1 and ate at 6p.m., so I can eat the Crunchie Bar NOW. Hee, Hee.

Hi All, I have scoffed the Crunchie Bar and it is 8.15pm. So, I will check before bedtime my b.s. and post it tomorrow morning on the thread.

Right I'm going to get my best clothes on now (nightie & dressing gown) and settle down to watch hubby lose his temper at the rugby match and yell at the tv. Come on Wales. Enjoy the rest of the evening, hope you all have a good night and the readings you want in the morning. Take care and goodnight everyone.
Karen xx

Hello everyone, I've just sat down after a frantic day at work plus session in the gym. I am so glad it's the weekend now, no work for 2 days. Yay!

My husband has opened a bottle of wine - I wasn't going to indulge, but somehow have managed to pour out a large glass....

@13lizanne - Have I missed the naming ceremony Anna? (With talking) What was decided? I liked the suggestion of Robinredbreast. And please can you tell me where it is?

Hi can I join in?
We went out for a meal this evening, I tested before and it was 6.2 so slightly concerned. Went to Harvester salad, chicken and sweet potato chips (which normally are OK for me) and Sundae best with chocolate sauce. 2 hours afterwards 5.4, so delighted with that.

@Hiitsme - Hi, that's brilliant, so you'll be having that again next time. We have to experiment and take chances - how else will we find out.:)

@liam1955 haven't posted it yet, William do you want to do it, I've got visitors again start new post on General Chat forum call it Naturefile? Have to go again :)

@mo53 - Hi - read what you have eaten today. What was your blood sugar after the evening meal then? Have you lost any weight whilst being on this low carb thingy?
