Type 2 Life

You Lot are such a crazy bunch @13lizanne - @mo53 - and others, I am so "lucky" to have stumbled onto this forum and meet such friendly, loving and funny people as you.:D:D:D
 
Lord! What a racket from our garden, they've got the 3yr old in from next door and his Dad and the dog! Ds not too keen on dogs, he doesn't understand what they are really. My daffy bulbs will get trampled at this rate!

I agree! Lol. We are so lucky aren't we if we listed all the new friends we have @liam1955 we'd be here for hours

Exactly - this is why I wasn't able to work even when he was at school. He has always suffered with colds and ear infections and he really struggled at school when he was unwell.
 
@Diamum5972 I was the same, gave up work when we got the diagnosis. Worth it though, isn't it? D also suffers from ear infections it seems to be prevelant in ASD Doc thinks Ds faint on Monday might have been caused by inner ear infection which he's had for over 2 yrs on + off. He looks like Rocky Balboa today, his eye is yellow, green and blue. Posting in wrong thread again - sorry folks

@TooManyCrisps - What was your last HBA1C and when did you have it? And what are you hoping for this time?
I am having my HBA1C blood test on Monday. My last one was November and that was 62? or was it 64? = well anyway it was 81 (6 months before November). I am not going to beat myself up if it is raised - I can but only work on it for the next test. :(

Hi @liam1955 . My HBA1C was 97 at diagnosis on New Years Eve. I am trying to to get it (much) lower through diet. I had a BMI of 27, I've now lost a stone and its down to just under 26but I need to lose more. I do lots of exercise - but I always have done.

@TooManyCrisps - Hi and hope you had a fab time at the Cinema. I really do think you have done brilliant, to say you were only diagnosed on 31st Dec - and lost a stone too through diet and exercise. You are determined and you will succeed.:)
 
What are you up to now @liam1955 ? I'm watching The Voice then afterwards Casualty. After my busy day I'm not fit for much else :) Also got a large glass of merlot plus salted almonds - well! it is Saturday

@13lizanne - SNAP = watching the very same, except for glass of wine. You enjoy it and your nuts too! Been on the Nature file and I love that picture of rodmans "yellow Budgie" = Ha, Ha. I've had such a bad day :( It all started well, I went for a lovely long walk (10.5 miles) and then ran myself a warm bath to relax into. When I stood up to get out, my misbehaving blood pressure suddenly plummeted and I passed out, falling out of the bath and landing on the old bath toy box we still keep odds and ends in. The box shattered and I've torn my ear really badly, spent hours in A&E having my BP monitored and I've got to go back tomorrow to see a plastic surgeon, they think I might need a skin graft to fix my ear :bigtears::blackeye::inpain: I've also got lots of little cuts and bruises all over my back, and scared the life out of hubby and kids when I had to phone him to ask him to come home from their day out to take me to hospital.
So frustrated with these issues with my BP, it's always either too high or too low - grrrrrrrr! And if I have to take anymore time off work my boss is going to be very unhappy....
 
Oh @Alzebra you poor thing! Did they give you painkillers so that you can get a decent night's sleep? What a fright you and your family must have got. Is it really sore? Hope this might get the medics to sort out proper treatment for your BP Sending you an enormous hug
 
Thanks for the hug @13lizanne it's much appreciated! I've got co-codamol and penicillin to take but my head is all wrapped up in bandages and I've been advised to sleep sitting up in a chair this evening. I feel so daft, shouldn't have had a warm bath when there was no-one home in case I went woozy. Just trying to be grateful it wasn't worse and trying to come up with a decent story for my students - I think I might tell them I've been cage fighting :hilarious:

Oh no! Sending you massive hugs Alzebra, I used to have low blood pressure when I was pregnant and it was awful. Hope you're not in too much pain xx

So sorry for you.Hugs galore for you. Hope you do manage some sleep sitting up and also that you're not in too much discomfort. Best wishes for your consultation tomorrow. Hope something can be done. Take care.
