Type 2 Life

Firstly I just want to THANK YOU All for your kind words and Hugs to: @13lizanne - @mo53 - @Diamum5972 - @ickihun - @doolallylady - @Alzebra - @Prem51 - @hankjam - @Charliek3 - @Struma - This afternoon I had a phone call from Cosentyx - (my Consultant signed me up) I am hAving a delivery on Friday of the drug, and a Healthcare Nurse is contacting me tomorrow to arrange a visit for next week. This drug became available in Brittain last May and is for the treatment of Psoriatic Arthritis. I have gone 3 weeks without pain relief as the previous drug had to get out of my system. I am only using Heat Pads that last up to 8 hours, but they help a little. My problem is that the pain builds in my joints when I remain in one position and so every 20 minutes I have to move, night time is terrible because I am not having the chance to go into a deep sleep. Sorry - for waffling on. :)

@liam1955 that is good news. I hope it is Tuesday that she can see you . 3 weeks is an incredibly long time without a full nights sleep. I was just thinking.... The group that use this thread are such genuinely nice people. I'm so glad that I have joined this forum and got to know this happy group. Thank you all. :)

@mo53 - Agree completely. I was on another forum and I was an Ambassador - I greeted, welcomed and connected other members to one another which was also Global. I only 'resigned' a month ago. I would much rather spend my time on this forum with such nice people and help those who maybe just needs someone to listen for a rant and rave = like me today!! Ha, Ha, Ha.
How you been today with your blood sugars? Did you go Swimming also?

@liam1955 I didn't swim today as I was looking after my grandson for most of the day. He will be 3 on May. So I have run around the garden, played football and catch, gardened and rescued dug up hyacinth bulbs! Lol. I then went shopping. My bs was high this morning but has been in 6s most of the day so not bad. I hope to swim tomorrow. :)

Hi @ickihun - No my partner is not diabetic. He is a chocolate and sweet fiend!!
I have half a box of TRAMADOL ( Opiate drug) that I was on for 4 years and had to be weaned off. Yes, I could take them - but it would delay getting this new drug called COSENTYX, It is 2 injections a week for 5 weeks and then 2 injections every month. So, I will give anything - err no, I will try most things to be pain free!!!:)

Is your grandson a Gemini? I am - my birthday is end of may.:) Hey 6 is good, and you would of got a 'winner' from @ickihun !!!:D

Thank You All. Yes, I am not working - I packed in work 15 years ago to look after/care for my Mother who developed Alzheimer's and type 2 Diabetes. For 9 years I cared for my Mum who slowly changed into somebody else, and towards the end did not know who I was or had no memory of my Dad, or 50 years marriage and the 5 children they had. It will be 6 years in October my Mum just collapsed and died. The shock and the guilt I felt made me 'Shut Down' for a very long time to the point I stopped/could not go out. And just let my own diabetes of which I had very good control of for 10 years go down the drain! (4 stone in weight soon got put on). My partner and I met in 1998 and we "married" in 2008 - HE ( Yes - not mis-spelt) has been my rock and by my side throughout, and I am still on the road to recovery.
Forgot to say, that I am a Qualified Psychiatric Nurse and looking after other people is easy, but when it is your nearest/dearest it is so very different. And now at a "young" 60 years of age I could not go back into nursing - ever!! William.
@liam1955, you have had a very hard time, but I am so pleased that you hsve found a wonderful husband. I hope you are feeling a bit better today. Never feel you shouldn't moan - i think we all need to let it out sometimes, and it can be easier to do that on an anonymous forum than with our real-life friends on occasions.

Yes but only a like at 7. He he @liam1955 you are a git! My winners are lovely and shiny and when zoomed up sparkly too!
You know you love my winners tag. Go on, admit it. Ha ha

You are a 'card' @ickihun - you make me laugh!! I am pleased with my fasting this morning of 6.2 compared to yesterday's and the day before. I said to @mo53 that ickihun gives a 'winner' rating to 6's :). I weighed myself this morning and that stubborn 10lb will not GO!!! Have got to get rid of it? It was agreed last year I had to get down to 11 1/2 stone, but I decided 12 stone to stick at. Have lost 1stone 4lbs since last November. But, January And February and now just stayed at 12 stone 10lbs - not losing OR putting any weight on. @paula.nolan42 Thank You, :) @TooManyCrisps Thank You :) = your both really kind.

Hello @liam1955 i was typing on good morning while you were typing on here lol.

@mo53 SNAP!! I put it on the wrong thread! Oh well, we are allowed to make mistakes? I just want to get back to being my usual self and not sounding like a "creaking gate" that needs a good oiling!! Ha, Ha.:D

@DR123 - I know only too well about Sciatica, it comes and go's with me. Have you ever thought about Acupuncture? I had a course of it on prescription from my GP some years ago (not sure if they would prescribe it now - with cutbacks?) It did not work every time for me, but when it did I was pain free for a good 24 hours.
Like You @Stallen I also have Herniated Disc's = L4/5 & L5/S1 it was my 2nd MRI Scan in June 2014 that revealed I have Arthritis in my spine. And just to update you I begin next Tuesday 29th my 3rd Biological Drug of Cosentyx, so fingers crossed this works for me. :)
