Type 2 Life

@doolallylady - Honestly, Karen I am going to stick to what I said and prove to you all I can do without Chocolate/Rubbishy foods for 1 day:) (Can't wait for 1 minute past midnight though:D) I had a cheese & mustard sandwich for lunch on Hovis bread and my blood sugar was 6.5 2hours later, for tea we are having Waitrose crustless Guyere Cheese Quiche and steamed Broccoli, Carrots and a few new potatoes with butter on, followed by a Greek Yoghurt. Sensible eh?

Mealtimes are "sensible" - it's me that isn't:D
Going on main computer to do some business, as my tablet needs charging. Chat later with you all. @mo53 - get some gardening done? It will be dark soon!:D:D
@13lizanne - Anna, enjoy your dinner with the Family :).

Found a new (for me) bread in Tesco, Braces Farmhouse Seeded sliced, high fibre.
per slice
Energy 124 kcal = 6%
Fat 3.4g = 5%
(sats) 0.7g = 3%
Sugars 1.2g = 1%
Salt 0.38g = 6%

The information looked pretty good so I thought I would give it a try for a change instead of Bergen. Because I rarely eat bread now, on Friday I thought I'd have poached eggs on toast x 2. I ate the 2 eggs but only 1 and a bit of the toast because I was full.
Testing before 5.2 (yea)
Testing after 8.5 (boo)

I don't get this with Bergen so I won't be having that again. I thought I would tell you in case you are tempted to try, although I realise we all react differently to different foods.

@mo53 - What's this Sukrin loaves you mentioned? I've got a bread maker sat in the kitchen doing nothing, - would you kindly explain what ingredients you use and does it taste nice? I might experiment and make it myself?:)

Good evening all, I've been enjoying catching up on all the posts since I was on last night... I was drinking 'Simply' Cab Sav from Chili bought in Tesco for £4.50 - I went to bed late enough and had a nice lie in this morning - Had a Skype with my brother in Madrid and then went out to do the shopping - Caught up with some TV - My head was fine, it would take a lot more than 1 bottle to do damage (just feeding into the Irish Drinking stereotype there)

Good Evening @paula.nolan42 - having a Brother in Madrid is handy, do you go over there for holidays? I know you are busy - busy and don't always have the time to come on the Forum, but it's nice when you do!:)

I have been to Madrid twice since he moved there, I like visiting him and his boyfriend - they are such a lovely couple

Hi @mo53 - We were watching Antique Roadshow, but now watching Durrell on ITV + 1. I goggled Lidl and here is the address: Stakesby Road, Whitby, YO21 1HS If you have a map of Whitby you could find it or unless you know Whitby well. The 'newbie' looked at the link on gout and saw he was eating foods that is no no for gout sufferers, did you have a read?

@liam1955 thank you for the address and information on Lidl. :) I read all of the information on the gout link. It's so tricky , trying to eat both low carb and for gout. I do my best but find both need a lot of thought. Did you enjoy the Durrels? I wasn't sure whether I would like it but it really hooked me in. Are you watching Home Fires too on +1 ? I thought that was brilliant.

@mo53 - I enjoyed the Durrells - like Keeley Hawes she was in the recent 'upstairs, downstairs' remake on last year. I hope you are able to get the rolls, I don't shop in Lidl's but keep hearing/reading a lot of good reports about it, so I am going to have to pay the store a visit one day soon. It is a 'balancing act" but I would concentrate on your Diabetes first and foremost, I should not of gone on about the Gout Link - but I meant well and I know you knew this. How's your back pain? I have been good and NO chocolate has been eaten all day today. I am going to make a drink and be back presently.:)

@liam1955 yes that's right she was . I thought she was excellent in Upstairs Downstairs. Wow no chocolate! Well done! I think my weaknesses are crisps, particularly cheese and onion and icecream. It's a couple of months since I had any crisps but I find it more difficult to be near icecream. I'm going to bed in a minute as tomorrow is the day I have my grandson. I'm hoping it will be fine so we can play in the garden. I have about 100 summer bulbs which he might help me to plant. :)
