Type 2 Life

@hankjam :) I have gone totally off coffee and have converted to Yorkshire Tea, big mugs of it with a splash of milk builders style.....do not seem to be able to get enough of it...very odd as I was never a tea drinker!
I've never been a great tea drinker, mostly because I couldn't stand it without sugar, but my son has converted me to Yorkshire Gold and it's the bomb! Lovely stuff!

I can honestly say that I try hard to reduce my carb intake. I compensate with high protein, eggs, fish, fat, fruit (apples and bananas mainly) and veg. Even the rye bread has gone. It's very nearly eating to live, rather than enjoying what I eat. However, if that's what it needs to be, so be it.
I know what you mean, David. Unfortunately, as you know, ALL carbohydrate turns to sugar when it hits our blood, bread and fruit included. Life isn't worth living if we have no pleasure in it - get thee to the Drs and get these meds sorted my friend. Your high BG is making you feel like c**p and that can be fixed. Please tell us how you get on David.

Got me yorkshire builders tea for now as well
I meant to say, Tina is welcome to post on this thread too if she wants to complain about you (only kidding eldergarth) quite a few family members come on for a chat too. What you up to today? Is it tomorrow our TV programme starts? Anna

How has you're day been have you heared from claire lately

So far I've also been to Lidls and Tesco, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. Made my hubby's sandwiches for tomorrow and we've had an omelette and cold meat for lunch. Now I'm catching up with my emails and browsing the forum for a while before no 1 son arrives for a visit. Claire will be busy with her new wee baby, she's over on the type 1 forum but we could leave a message on her profile page?

hi anne having a relaxing afternoon still getting the bad pains in my feet think its the higher BG I've had for last couple of days but not 100% sure . (made the mistake of having some rhye bread the other day and spiked me somethink chronic . Ron

I know, bread is my weakness but each time I eat some my levels are raised for days afterwards. Hope your feet get better soon if not, it's off to the docs for you Ron. It might be something other than the diabetes. I seem to have hurt my back, I've been doing a lot of sitting down recently and it hurts like mad when I stand up! We're falling to bits lol

get you OH to give you a massage anne  I know how it feels to be laid up with a bad back was in a bad car wreck when I was 18 in traction for 6 months ouch!!! .
Never expected the diabetes though as completely changed my life style after health scare with my heart about 7 yrs ago gave up smoking gave up junk food then get hit with this go figure:oops:

hi everyone as @eldergarth has said I've been baking for him , he seems to have lost the use of his legs when it comes to the kitchen. lol

Sorry to butt in on Your conversation, I've always had pain in my feet cos I had bad car accident when I was 4, they wanted to amputate, still being suggested, but last summer I was getting pain in my feet & toes, I thought it was cos of dissability, saw doctor, had hbc1a test which showed sugars very high, which doc said was cause as it effects nerves if sugars high for long time (mine was for month or so test hbca1a showed) I still get this pain if my sugars go up sometimes so maybe it's cos of a blip with your high sugars recently, your health is important try to get checked if it continues, hope it calmes down and good health to you, hopefully I'm wrong and your just having a rough few days

hi @maureen5752 your welcome to butt in when ever you like i'm hoping it is just a blip but when I was diagnosed I was taken into AE with BG of 38 and had insulin drips to get my levels down . so its a bit of an unsure as to how long I was like this and my D/N thinks the damage my have already been done to my feet but I don't have the pain all the time so still undergoing tests to confirm or deny

less said about that place the better. its makes my BP rocket just at the mere mention of Kingsmill hospital. You will never be going there again.

Hi I found out I was diabetic when by chance a female doctor noticed I'd lost so much hsir, not being big headed but everyone used to remark on my thick long blonde hair, but it was falling out in balls, anyway I'd had thoughts of somethink not right for a year or so cos of othere effects I was having, after several months I had (apologies) very bad thrush for 3 months, I was ill on a plane, was ill at airport on return so went to the doctors who did test then which was 23.4!!! Took hbc1a test which showed it it's been happening during past 3 months! The thrush should have given him warning signals! But the damage was already done, Hopefully you will be ok but this is why it's always best to check, better safe, I do hope it's only a blip and you will be ok, last weekend my sugars were sky high I was really bad, cos of side effects of steroids and antibiotics, I am dissabled, ashmatic, and have macular in both eyes, but we are still here so keep your chin up, always someone worse of, try get checked out, wish you good health. Hopefully it's an of day

thanks @maureen5752 for your kind words I have got my next review in may after my next bloods at end of this month so hopefully can get some answers also me and my wife are going to my DESMOND course on wednesday so be interesting to see what they have to say but from what I've heard sounds like the NHS are still pushing the carbs.
good health to you too

So I am guessing that posting weekly averages is not allowed on the "Type 2's What was your fasting Blood Glucose in the morning" either.

If we are literally only allowed to post the number then it is making me a little suspicious that this data is being "gathered'. So I will not be posting on that thread anymore. Bit sad really as it was a morning ritual test And post to hold myself to account.

I don't think that's the case at all @Lindy1706 if you look at the current and last to current pages on the fbg thread you will see posts where people are talking about fbg related topics. It's only when we go off topic and we are derailing the thread that causes the mods to correct us

Hi @eldergarth, I'll be really interested in hearing how you get on on the DESMOND course. I'm booked into one in May but am still wondering if it's really worth using a day of annual leave for (precious, precious annual leave!) if I'm not going to learn anything. I've got my HBA1C level down from 97 to 49 in the last 3 months since diagnosis by following lchf, so I don't want to hear anything about needing to eat carbs!!
