I wish I'd been checked for diabetes at 6yr old. I'm probables going to die earlier than I should have. If only...... Mind you my mum would have not tested me if the dn had said not too. So I guess irrespective now.I test and I'm only pre (ooops, hope I don't get kicked off the thread![]()
) but how else am I to know how I'm doing.....
It's a shame prevention isn't taken more seriously. I feel let down.
Yes I'm responsible for my own life now but what a mess I inherited. Pneumonia at 3 months old then ruptured appendicitis at 14yr old nearly killed me but I'm still here to tell the tale. Luckily. Diabetes prevents me from a problem free health no matter how good I am. Testing gives suffers power. Having the knowledge of whether your sugars are getting better or worse is essential for good mental health too. I will always support anyone, no matter which type, to keep themselves knowledgeable with their disease.
I wish I'd known sooner. :-[
